Last meeting amongst the squads
Canyon, Texas (December 3, 2014) – Lubbock Christian came out on the losing end of a low-scoring affair between the Chaps and West Texas A&M, dropping a 68-57 decision to the Buffs Wednesday night at the First United Bank Center, in which AJ Luckey was the bulk of LCU's offense, scoring 23 points.
While each squad netted 21 field goals throughout the contest, the Buffs (4-4) fired up 31 from beyond the three-point line, converting seven. In the first half alone, WT attempted 21 of their 29 shots from deep. The Chaps (2-3) did not fare much better, hitting only four of their 15 long attempts. The teams also did not perform well from the free-throw, with LCU going 12-of-20 and the Buffs hitting 18-of-28.
No. 10 Orediggers outlast foul-laden Chaps
Golden, Colo. (November 14, 2015) – Lubbock Christian University men's basketball was unable to contain 10th-ranked Colorado School of Mines and Oredigger Gokul Natesan in an 83-68 loss Saturday night at the RMAC/Heartland Challenge inside Lockridge Arena.
The Chaparrals (1-1, 0-0 Heartland) had difficulty stopping Natesan as he racked up a career and game-high 26 points that included a 6-of-11 showing from three-point range. Foul trouble plagued LCU, as no Chap played more than 29 minutes in the game and made it difficult to gain any sort of rhythm. Isaac Cardona chalked up a perfect shooting night by going 4-of-4 from the floor by draining both of his three-point attempts and hitting his two free throws for 12 points. Teammates A.J. Luckey and Tyler Rogers also registered a team-high dozen points.
