All-Time Series: Series Tied 6-6

Lubbock Christian University seeks to avoid a three-game series sweep and looks to end a three-game losing streak Sunday, closing out a three-game road series at Angelo State University Sunday with a 1 p.m. first pitch at Foster Field.

LCU, with 74 runs through their first six games of the season, have been held two just two runs in the series against ASU. Each run was off a solo home run. The Chaps have two runs off 10 hits in the series and are batting .159. On a positive note, Brett Wilhelm has three hits in the series and is 3-for-6.

The Chaparrals are 5-3 on the season and are 0-2 on the road. They look to end a three-game losing streak and avoid what would be their longest losing streak since being swept in a four-game series at Oklahoma City University in April of 2013. Sunday, the Chaps hand the ball to Levi Westerlund. The sen-ior right handed pitcher is 1-1 with a 6.52 ERA. He has allowed 15 runs through two starts, but only seven of the runs have been earned. He has eight strikeouts through 9.2 innings pitched on the season. Last season, Westerlund made two relief appearances against ASU and combined for a 6.00 ERA, allowing two runs off five hits in three innings of work.

Angelo State has a 1.00 ERA in the series and they have 25 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched. Ram pitch-ers have walked only one batter. J.C. Snyder leads the series with a .571 batting average (4-for-7) and two doubles. Bryce Zak is expected to start on the mound for ASU. The junior right handed pitcher is 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA. He is a Texas A&M Corpus Christi transfer and is one of two NCAA Div. I transfers in the starting rotation.

ASU, 6-1 and winners of five straight, is seeking to complete a three-game sweep of the Chaps for the first time. Saturday's 4-1 win over LCU helped them clinch their first ever three-game series against the Chaps.
