Lubbock Christian University returns to the diamond Tuesday and faces West Texas A&M University at Wilder Park with a 6 p.m. first pitch.
LCU is coming off a Heartland Conference series split in Laredo, Texas against Texas A&M University this past weekend. LCU was able to get in a doubleheader on Friday, but rain washed Saturday's game. The Chaps are 20-18 on the season and 7-8 in conference. Hunter McFall leading the team in hitting (.382), McFall leads the team with 58 hits and 38 RBI. The Chaps have 27 home runs this season, with homers hit by 11 different individuals. LCU is hitting .327 in non-conference action, with
Ethan Kohnle hitting .479 with 12 doubles and a .896 slugging mark in non-conference play. The Chaps pitching staff has an ERA of 5.32.
WT had won four straight games until losing the third game of a three-game series with Eastern New Mexico. They enter Tuesday 25-14 on the season and 11-2 at home. WT is hitting .275 on the season with Matt Cole leading the team hitting .342. They are a balanced hitting team, with eight players between 14-18 runs-batted-in on the season. On the mound, WT has a 3.16 ERA.
The meeting is the second meeting of the season and completes a home-and-home series. The prior meeting was last Tuesday in a game that saw a combined 41 runs scored, as LCU fell 21-17 in a four-hour marathon.
