Chaps Hosting Unbeaten Greyhounds

LCU Opening Seven-Game Homestand

EASTERN NEW MEXICO (3-0-1) at LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (3-1-0)
Wednesday, September 23rd - 1:00 p.m.
John Walker Soccer Complex (Lubbock, Texas)

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•   The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals return home to open a seven-game homestand Wednesday hosting Eastern New Mexico before continuing the week Friday hosting Texas-Permian Basin for a non-conference tilt.
•   The Chaps are 3-1-0 on the season and coming off their first loss of the season: a 4-0 loss at No.12 Fort Hays State.
•   LCU returns home, where they are 1-0-0 this season (3-3-1 last season at home). LCU is 4-3-1 all-time at home under Lee Williams (2-1-1 all-time under Williams in non-conference home games) and 25-11-5 all-time overall at home.

STORY LINES
•   LCU enters the week coming off their first shutout of the season. The shutout was the first since a 1-0 loss on Oct. 20, 2014 at home to Newman. It is the third time LCU has been shutout since Williams took over. All-time, it was the 18th time they have shutout all-time and the 10th time on the road. LCU  is 7-8-2 in games following a shutout.
•   The Chaps matched a program best start at 3-0-0 (2012), but were unable to set a new record with their set-back to FHSU. They were also the final Heartland Conference team to hold a perfect record. They were one of 20 programs nationally to have a perfect record prior to their loss Friday.
•   LCU witnessed a rare sight when playing FHSU, and that was seeing an opposing player record a hat trick. Anthony Hernandez recorded the first hat trick against LCU since Erik Luzanilla completed the task for Wayland Baptist on Sept. 10, 2013. It is the first hat trick recorded against LCU since Lee Williams took over the coaching reigns.
•   The Chaps are home for seven consecutive home games and it serves as their longest home stand in program history. Oct. 10 will not only end the homestand, but it will serve as the final home game, as they will then head to the road for their final six games of the season.
•   LCU leads the Heartland Conference and ranks 10th nationally with an average of 20.00 shots a game. Mbongeni Ndlovu and Lennard Hansen  co-lead the team and the conference with an average of 3.25 shots per game.
•   So far through four games, LCU has received goal production from seven different Chaps, with Ndlovu leading the team with four. Last season, 12 different players were credited with at least one goal at season's end.

SCOUTING ENMU
•   The Greyhounds are 3-0-1 on the season and coming off a 2-1 home win in double overtime against Dallas Baptist in their home opener.
•   ENMU is coming off an 7-6-3 season a year ago. They went 4-2-1 on the road last season and are off to a 0-1-1 road record this season (2-0-0 in neutral site games).
•   Eastern New Mexico (like West Texas A&M and Midwestern State) competes independently, as the Lone Star Conference does not sponsor men's soccer. Next season, ENMU will join the Heartland Conference in men's soccer as an affiliated member.
•   Roberto Zatarain leads the 'Hounds with four goals and eight points on the season.
•   Zatarain averages a goal per game to rank tied for 14th in the nation in goals per game (1.0).

SERIES HISTORY WITH ENMU
•   ENMU leads the all-time series 3-1-2 against LCU and is 3-0-2 in the prior five meetings.
•   LCU's lone win in the series came on Sept. 7, 2010 in Lubbock.
•   The series is 1-1-1 in games played in Lubbock.
