Emily Hanaway continued her hot streak for LCU, with her third consecutive double-double on 12 kills and 10 digs. This victory brings the Lady Chaps all-time record up to 21-0 against OPSU. Lubbock Christian is now 12-9 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
How It Happened
Set One
Lubbock Christian got off to a quick 5-2 start thanks in part to back-to-back kills by
Camille Porco. OPSU was able to bounce back, with Emily Goeken and an LCU attack error allowing the Aggies to tie the score up at 5-5.
Mallory Powell collected all eight of LCU's assists to help the Lady Chaps rack up 10 kills on the set.
Christiana Tavo collected two kills on six swings while
Emily Hanaway knocked down four kills on nine attempts to help the Lady Chaps take the set 25-22.
Set Two
An OPSU attack error allowed the Lady Chaps to score the first point of the set. From that point on, Lubbock Christian never trailed.
Christiana Tavo proved to be the standout for the Lady Chaps in the second set, as she had four kills on just seven attempts to capture a .429 attack percentage. LCU went on a late 6-3 run to capture the set by a score of 25-18.
Set Three
Things proved a little dangerous for Lubbock Christian as OPSU jumped to a quick 3-0 lead with a kill by Bristen Graves. LCU was forced to play "catch-up," until an OPSU attack error allowed the Lady Chaps to take their first lead of the set. From that point on, it was all LCU, as they never lost their lead. LCU pulled away to a 25-20 set victory, despite OPSU recording 13 kills to LCU's 12 and 23 digs to LCU's 21.
Emily Hanaway had five kills, four digs, and one ace on the set.
Kelsie French recorded 9 kills on the set to anchor LCU's defense.

Emily Hanaway grabbed her third straight double-double and her seventh of the season. She had 12 kills and 10 digs.
.400 – Freshman,
Karley David, recorded four kills on 10 attempts and no errors for a season-high .400 attack percentage.
29 – After missing two consecutive games,
Mallory Powell regulated the Lady Chap offense as she picked up 29 of LCU's 32 assists for the evening.
14 – Kayln Moore and Julia Ibarra collected 14 digs each to account for 28 of OPSU's 49 digs on the evening. Kayln Moore leads the Aggies with 165 digs.

The Lady Chaps will have a quick turnaround as they head up the road to Wichita, Kans. to face Newman University on Thursday, Oct. 20. This will be LCU's third game of their six-game road trip and their second straight Heartland Conference contest.
