SAN ANTONIO, Texas (February 4, 2016) - The Lady Chaps travel to participate in the NCAA Division II College Classic softball tournament hosted by St. Mary's. Lubbock Christian will face East Central University from Ada, Oklahoma and Texas A&M – Commerce on Thursday followed by Tarleton State and host St. Mary's on Friday. On Saturday, the Lady Chaps have a single game against Colorado School of Mines.

The Tigers (0-2) opened play this past weekend losing both games of the double-header against Central Oklahoma. The ECU team returns an All-American, two All-Region selections, four All-GAC honorees and four GAC All-Tournament selections from a squad that finished as the champions of the RMAC Conference Tournament. East Central won 34 games last season and advanced to the regional finals.
TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
The Lions will start their season at the tournament in San Antonio with their first game coming against LCU. TAMUC is competing in just their second season of softball.
TARLETON STATE
The No. 10 ranked TexAnns are 2-0 after an opening-weekend sweep of Texas A&M International. Tarleton has a host of returners from the 2015 season with 15 total returning players - eight lineup starters and two starting pitchers. The TexAnns went 33-22 last season, winning the South Central Region 1 Championship.
ABOUT ST. MARY'S
The No. 12 ranked Rattlers also will open play at their tournament. Last season St. Mary's went 48-12, winning the South Central Super Regional over Tarleton State and advancing to the College World Series in Oklahoma City.
ABOUT COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES
The Orediggers will open play at the College Classic in San Antonio. They boast a young team with no seniors and many new faces. They have only six returners, two of which garnered Rocky Mountain Conference All-RMAC recognition last season.
