KINGSVILLE, Texas (March 18, 2016) – The Lady Chaps are spending the last few days of their Spring Break in Kingsville, Texas taking on the Javelinas of Texas A&M University-Kingsville in a three-game series at the Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field with the first game of the Friday double-header scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.

JAVELINAS
The Javelinas are led at the plate by Victoria Schoonard-Saborio who is hitting .309 on the season with 15 runs-batted-in. Karri Smith leads TAMUK in the circle. Smith has a .340 earned-run-average and a 3-4 record.

HEARTLAND
The Javelinas are 3-7 versus Heartland Conference foes this season with two wins against Oklahoma Christian and one against Texas A&M International. The seven loses have come from TAMIU, St. Edward's and St. Mary's.

CHAPS
The Lady Chaps enter the series with the nation's leading home run hitter, Morgan Colburn with 14. Colburn is hitting .448 for the year with a 1.000 slugging percentage. She has 39 runs-batted in on 43 hits. Molly Davison is currently sitting fourth in the country with 11 home runs and is hitting .443 with a .932 slugging percentage. Katera Eltsosie leads LCU in the circle with 14 wins and a 2.96 earned-run-average. Katlyn Holmes who has 10 wins and a 3.84 earned-run-average is not far behind.

LONE STAR
The Lady Chaps are 5-4 this year versus Lone Star Conference opponents falling to Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Women's and with victories over Angelo State, Midwestern State and Eastern New Mexico.
