LUBBOCK, Texas (March 5, 2016) – After a month on the road and 21 straight games away from home the Lady Chaps finally returned to the friendly confines of PlainsCapital Park on the LCU campus for a Heartland Conference series and swept the Hillcats of Rogers State in the first two games yesterday.
FAMILIAR FOE
The Lady Chaps have played in the same conference as the Hillcats since LCU started softball during the 2008 season and have faced each other 21 times with the Lady Chaps holding a 19-2 advantage.
COLBURN
Morgan Colburn leads the nation in home runs (13) and runs-batted-in (37) while ranking sixteenth in the nation in slugging percentage (1.049). Colburn leads the conference in the three aforementioned categories as well as batting average (.457) and runs scored (33). She is second in on-base-percentage (.554), hits (37), doubles (9) and walks (17).
Lindzi Clemmer leads the Heartland Conference in triples with three.
ELTSOSIE
Katera Eltsosie leads the conference in wins (12), opposing-batting-average (.200) and batters struck out looking (40). The redshirt junior is second in the conference in earned-run-average (2.32) and batters struck out (77).
