LUBBOCK, Texas (April 19, 2016) – The Lubbock Christian University softball team will host second-ranked Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M in a single game at PlainsCapital Park Tuesday with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

HISTORY
The Lady Chaps first faced the Lady Buffs in 2009, sweeping the doubleheader at home. Since that day LCU has only won three of the next 13 meetings. The two teams split the doubleheader played in Lubbock last season.
TEAM LEADERS
Morgan Colburn leads the team in batting average (.403), hits (60), runs-batted-in (63), total bases (140), home runs (22) and slugging percentage (.940).
Molly Davison is tied with Colburn for the most doubles (14).
Liz Torres leads the team in walks this season with 27.

LAST MEETING
CANYON, Texas (April 13, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University softball suffered a 13-6 loss to the No. 2 ranked West Texas A&M Lady Buffs Wednesday night at Schaeffer Park in Canyon, Texas.
TWO OUTS
With two outs in the top of the first inning the Lady Chaps (36-11) struck first when
Katera Eltsosie singled down the left field line where the left fielder struggled to field the ball cleanly allowing
Ashton Bell to score from first base. Then with two outs in the bottom of the first inning the Lady Buffs (45-2) scored a run to even the score. In the second inning again with two outs WTAMU scored on a Lady Chap throwing error. Once again with two away in the bottom of the third inning the Lady Buffs drew two walks to go with three hits adding on another five runs to make it 7-1. LCU had a big four run inning in the fifth with
Lindzi Clemmer leading off the inning with a hard hit ball up the middle,
Ashton Bell being hit by a pitch, Eltsosie hitting a single to right field,
Morgan Colburn doubled to right center and
Sammie Murrietta driving a ball to center field to make it a 7-5 ballgame. In the bottom half of the fifth after a Lady Chap dropped fly ball and again with two outs a Lady Buff two-run homerun made the score 9-5. Clemmer scored another run for LCU in the sixth off an Eltsosie single to draw the Lady Chaps as close as they would get at 9-6. WTAMU added another four runs in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 13-6 game.
IN THE CIRCLE
Eltsosie (18-5) got the start in the circle for the Lady Chaps throwing two and two-third innings giving up seven runs on six hits walking three and striking out one suffering her fifth loss.
Katlyn Holmes threw two and a third innings in relief and didn't allow an earned run off three hits while striking out three Lady Buffs. Lady Chap Women's Basketball National Champion
Kelsey Hoppel got her first start for softball this season playing shortstop for the first six innings and throwing one inning of relief in the circle allowing two earned runs off three hits striking out one. For the Lady Buffs, Kilee Halbert (19-1) started and threw four innings giving up five runs on seven hits walking two and striking out two to earn her 19th win of the year before handing off to Tori Bayer (9) who pitched the final three innings allowing only one run off three hits to notch her ninth save of the season.
