LUBBOCK, Texas (April 22, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University softball will wrap-up their regular season schedule hosting the Newman Jets in a three-game Heartland Conference series at PlainsCapital Park on the campus of LCU with a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. and a single game Saturday scheduled for 11 a.m. with the Senior Day ceremonies beginning at 10:45 a.m.
HISTORY
The Lady Chaps first faced the Jets in 2014, their first year as members of the Heartland Conference by sweeping that first series on home soil at PlainsCapital Park. LCU has been victorious in all six meetings against Newman.
HOME SWEET HOME
The first game Friday will be the Lady Chaps' 200th game at PlainsCapital Park. Lubbock Christian has one loss at home this season with a record of 18-1. Since playing the first ever Lady Chap softball game on February 13, 2008, LCU has gone 187-12 (.940) within the friendly confines of PlainsCapital Park.
TEAM LEADERS
Morgan Colburn leads the team in batting average (.400), hits (60), runs-batted-in (63), total bases (140), home runs (22) and slugging percentage (.933).
Molly Davison is tied with Colburn for most doubles (14).
Liz Torres and Colburn lead the team in walks this season with 28.
Lindzi Clemmer leads the team in stolen bases with 14.
Katlyn Holmes leads the team in earned-run-average (2.34) and shutouts (4).
Katera Eltsosie leads LCU in wins (19), strikeouts (136) and opponents' batting average (.239).

LAST MEETING
WICHITA, Kan. (March 8, 2015) – Lubbock Christian completed a series sweep versus Newman by finishing off the weekend with a 6-2 win on Sunday to cap a 3-0 stay at NU Softball Field to stay a perfect 5-0 within the Heartland Conference.
Scoreless until the top of the third,
Sammie Murrietta and
Jessica Loiacano came through with singles, topped by an
Ashton Bell fielder's choice. A single to left field by
Liz Torres brought Loiacano home to give the Lady Chaps (15-5, 5-0 Heartland) a 1-0 advantage.
Faith Koria homered to center field in the fourth to double LCU's lead to 2-0 before Bell sent a double down the right field line in the following frame, setting up
Liz Torres for a left field single to bring Bell home to put the Lady Chaps up 3-0.
Newman put a run on the board in the sixth before LCU added to their total on a Loiacano single to score one while a Jet error allowed two more Lady Chap runs for a 6-1 lead. NU added another run on a Kassidy Furr double to right center, but it was not enough, as LCU took the victory.
Courtney McGee (7-2) earned the win with six hits, six strikeouts and a trio of walks.
