Highlights
LCU put up a fight in their 3-0 loss to No.9 Central Oklahoma, falling within five points in each set, including a pair of two-point set losses (the least amount you can lose by). There were a combined 10 lead changes in the match. The Lady Chaps produced a three-set season high 44 kills, but will be aggravated by the kill errors they produced. LCU had 22 errors at the net (12 for UCO) and seven from the serving line.
Mallory Powell was impressive with 30 assists (10 per set), six kills and two blocks.
Christiana Tavo and
Emily Hanaway co-led LCU with 10 kills each. Taylor Bevis and Ijeoma Njenje each had 12 kills to lead the Bronchos.
How It Happened
Set One
LCU opened the game with 4-1, 8-4 and 15-9 leads, but they let the lead slip away. UCO closed the set on a 16-8 run, which included an 8-2 run.
Camille Porco had four of her eight match kills in the set to lead LCU in the set. Powell,
Lauren Zoller, and Tavo each had three kills. Bevis led UCO with five kills in the set.
Set Two
The Lady Chaps jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the second set and led as late as 19-18 before UCO closed the set on a 7-1 run. Hanaway (5) and Tavo (4) combined for nine kills in the set for LCU.
Lupita Quintanilla produced a pair of aces in the set for LCU. UCO had a .324 attack percentage in the set and committed only one attack error.
Set Three
The third set appeared as a carbon copy of the prior two sets, with LCU letting opportunities slip away. They opened the set with a 5-1 lead and led 13-7 after one of three Tavo kills in the set. LCU led 20-18 late but allowed UCO to end the match on a 7-3 run for a 25-23 set win. UCO had two aces and LCU committed two errors during the 7-3 run. The Bronchos had four aces in the set.
Inside the Numbers:
14.7 – Hanaway had a three-set season high 33 kill attempts for an average of 14.7 attempts per set. She had 18 attempts in the third set.

Kelsie French had a three-set season high 19 digs in the match, with eight coming in the third set.
