LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals play their first Heartland Conference game of the season Thursday at home hosting Oklahoma Christian.
• LCU enters the game 2-0-0 following a 1-0 victory Saturday over Fort Lewis College. The game was LCU's home opener, but had to be played at Frenship Soccer Stadium due to saturated field conditions at LCU Soccer Field.
• LCU, who went 7-0-2 at home last season, is 1-0 at home this season and are unbeaten in their last 10 home games. LCU is 24-6-4 all-time at home under
Alex Denning (11-3-3 all-time under Denning in conference home games) and 28-14-6 all-time overall at home.
STORY LINES
• The Lady Chaps are 6-0-0 all-time in conference openers and 3-0-0 all-time in Heartland Conference openers. They are 18-7-0 all-time in Heartland Conference games and 10-2 all-time in Heartland Conference home games.
• LCU Freshman goalkeeper
Sarah Palmer is coming off Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. She went 2-0-0 on the week with a pair of clean sheets in 180 minutes. The Grapevine, Texas native opened with a two-save shutout on the road at Texas-Permian Basin and then helped the Lady Chaparrals blank Fort Lewis College, who is receiving votes in top-25 polls, with a six-save performance.
• This season mark's LCU's fourth season as members of the Heartland Conference and second season with conference and NCAA postseason eligibility. Last season, LCU qualified for the Heartland Conference Tournament for the first time in program history.
• Senior
Jamie Boone, LCU's second all-time leader in career goals (17), leads LCU in points this season with five and has contributed at least one point in each of the two games on the season.
• This season marks the fifth season in which LCU has opened the season with a 2-0 record. The last season they started out 2-0 is 2014, in which they started out 3-0.
• LCU is coming into the game following back-to-back shutouts. Saturday's shutout marked LCU's 32
nd shutout in program history. LCU enters Thursday with a shutout sequence of 223:41 and Palmer has a sequence of 180:00 in the mix. LCU has not produced shutout wins in three consecutive games since 2012 (it has been done three times in program history).
SCOUTING OC
• The Lady Eagles are coming off a 5-9-2 season, going 2-5-1 in Heartland Conference play. This game marks their conference opener. They are 1-1-0 and coming off a 3-0 home loss to Northeastern State (Okla.).
• OC, off to a 1-0-0 road record after a 1-0 road win at East Central (Okla.), went 2-4-2 last season on the road.
• The Heartland preseason poll has OC picked to finish sixth in the conference.
• OC has one goal on the season and it was tallied by freshman Kylee Ingalls. The Lady Eagles return Rubi Villegas Aguilar, who claimed Conference Freshman of the Year accolades last season.
• The last three games for OC, dating back to last season, have resulted in shutout results (OC is 1-2-0 in those contests).
SERIES HISTORY WITH OC
• This meeting marks the sixth between the two programs, with the prior five won by LCU.
• LCU won 5-1 in Lubbock last season, with Boone producing a pair of goals (Rubi Villegas Aguilar had OC's lone goal).
• The Lady Chaps are 3-0-0 in the series in games played in Lubbock.
