Highlights
LCU received a season high 17 kills from Lauren Zoller, but it was not enough to carry them for the victory, as Eastern New Mexico was able to force a split in the season series with a 3-1 win over the Lady Chaparrals. ENMU was able to thrive off nine blocks, eight serving aces and 52 kills, with Brooklyn Biel leading the 'Hounds with 12 kills. There were three-double-doubles in the match, with LCU receiving a 42-assist, 10-dig effort from Cory Jo Martin, and ENMU receiving double-doubles from Alexis Aguirre (18 assists, 13 digs) and Kaitlyn Kluna (23 assists, 10 digs).

How It Happened

Set One:
It was a neck-and-neck start in the opening set, with the two squads tied 11-11 after an ace by Lauren Zoller. ENMU responded with the next three points and eventually led 17-15 before closing the set on a 8-2 run to claim the set 25-16. Zoller led all players in the set with five kills, but ENMU hit .310 in the set. LCU's Cory Jo Martin produced 10 assists in the first set.

Set Two:
LCU responded with 17 kills in the second set and never trailed. Zoller (5) and Emily Hanaway (4) each combined for nine for a second consecutive set, and Cory Jo Martin was solid with 14 assists in the set. LCU's biggest lead in the set was 17-12 and they won the set 25-22.

Set Three:
The intermission disrupted the Lady Chaps momentum from winning the second set, as the Greyhounds opened the third set with a 7-3 advantage. Behind 14 kills and a .385 hitting percentage, ENMU led throught the set and pulled away to a 25-16 set win. Jasmine Gannon, who had four kills through the first two sets, produced five kills in the set for ENMU. Following a 22-dig set in the second set, LCU could only come up with seven digs in the set.

Set Four:
LCU was striving towards forcing a fifth set up 21-16, but they let the lead slip away.  ENMU closed the set and match on a 9-1 run. The run consisted of a trio of aces (two by Kaitlyn Kluna) to help win the set 25-22. Kelsie French produced 11 digs in the set for LCU, who also received a pair of aces in the set from McKaley Johnson.

Inside the Numbers:
2-6 – LCU's eight-match road trip comes to an end with LCU going 2-6 on the trip. They went 1-3 in non-conference play and 1-3 in conference action during the span.
4 – Since Tuesday's match came short of a five-set match, the streak of consecutive head-to-head matches between LCU and ENMU going to a fifth set ends at four. ENMU leads the all-time series 33-26, ending a series of two consecutive losses against LCU.
10 – Emily Hanaway joined Zoller in double figures in kills with 10, which marked the first time this season she has had at least 10 kills in consecutive matches (produced 12 Saturday at Texas A&M International).
42 – Cory Jo Martin's double-double was her fourth of the season. The mark included a season high 42-assist performance, which is one shy of her career high of 43 (Oct. 13, 2016 vs. Midwestern State).
49 – Lauren Zoller's top two performances in kill attempts this season have come against Eastern New Mexico. In the prior meeting this season, she posted 53 kill attempts, and Tuesday she attempted 49 kills. The two marks are the top two individual single game marks by a Lady Chap this season. Zoller completed the match with 17 kills, coming two shy (19) of her career high at St. Edward's on Oct. 6, 2016.

Up Next:
LCU finally returns home Thursday to host St. Edward's for LCU's first Heartland Conference home match of the season. Opening serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center.
