LUBBOCK, Texas (February 8, 2017) – The Hays brothers will face-off as Lubbock Christian University softball will play a single game Wednesday afternoon hosting the Cougars of Colorado Christian at 3:00 p.m. at PlainsCapital Park.
The game promises to be memorable as LCU's inaugural softball coach, Shanon Hays, returns as the Colorado Christian coach to face his brother, LCU Head Coach
Daren Hays. It will mark the first time the two have faced each other in a regular season contest. Their previous meetings took place when the Lady Chaps faced Shanon Hays coached Texas Tech Red Raider teams in fall scrimmages.
Current Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week,
Addison Ard, and her teammates will have their hands full with a Cougars team that went 3-1 this past weekend in the 2017 Lady Chaps Invitational. CCU also played two games on Tuesday at PlainsCapital Park against Eastern New Mexico splitting that double-header.
LCU hopes to keep their impressive start going after finishing 5-0 in their tournament this past weekend and continue their offensive surge having outscored their opponents 54-12.
The game will be available to watch and listen live. Live stats will be streamed, as well. You can catch all of the action at
