LUBBOCK, Texas (March 31, 2017) –The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals return home to host St. Edward's University in a big Heartland Conference series with a doubleheader Friday at PlainsCapital Park on the campus of LCU with first pitch set for 5:00 p.m. Friday night will also be Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night at the ballpark. The Lady Chaps wish to honor all Lubbock Christian faculty and staff and will have a special ceremony in between games. LCU faculty and staff and their families will all get in free with free food for all in attendance.
LCU LEADERS
The Lady Chaps are leading the Heartland Conference in batting average (.319).
Sydney Beuthien continues to lead both LCU and the Heartland Conference in batting average (.400), doubles (9), hits (38), runs-batted-in (34) and total bases (71).
Courtney Medina leads the Lady Chaps and the Heartland Conference in stolen bases (25). In the circle,
Katera Eltsosie leads the Lady Chaps with a 10-4 record and a 2.50 earned run average as well as with the most innings pitched (78.1).
Katlyn Holmes is tops on the team with four saves this season placing her with the second most in the nation.

The Hilltoppers come to the south plains hitting .259 as a team. St. Edawrd's is led by Kayla Appleby who is hitting .330. Appleby also leads the team in doubles (9), home runs (3), runs-batted-in (26) and hits (31). Olivia Burdick leads the team with a 2.71 earned run average. Lauren Slatten is tops on the team with five wins, as well as, innings pitched (82) and strikeouts (83). The Hilltoppers are coming off a mid-week sweep at the hands of the TexAnns of Tarleton State.

AUSTIN, Texas (February 27, 2016) – Home runs by
Sammie Murrietta and
Morgan Colburn help lead the Lady Chaps to a 3-1 win over St. Edward's to wrap up play at Diane Daniels Field on Saturday.
Murrietta hit a solo home run in the top of the first inning to get LCU (17-7) on the scoreboard first. The Hilltoppers (12-7) got that run back in the third inning when Megan Hoffman doubled through the right side to drive in Kaci Olson. Colburn responded in the fourth inning by leading off and launching the first pitch over the center field fence for her tem and conference-leading 11
th home run of the year.
Colburn came up big again in the fifth inning with the bases loaded by driving in
Ashton Bell for LCU's third run of the game. The Lady Chaps scored 10 runs on the weekend in the three-game series. Colburn was responsible for driving in six of those runs.
Katera Eltsosie (10-3) notched her 10th victory of the season by throwing all seven innings, allowing the one run off of only four hits while striking out three SEU batters. The Hilltoppers used three pitchers in the game with Ashlee Rex (2-2) suffering her second loss of the year.
