ODESSA, Texas (April 10, 2017) –The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals head to Odessa to face former Heartland foe University of Texas of the Permian Basin in a doubleheader Monday at the UTPB Softball Field, with game one set for a 4:00 p.m. start.

The Lady Chaps are hitting .311 as a team led by
Sydney Beuthien (.379). She also leads the team in slugging percentage (.690), hits (44), runs-batted-in (37), total bases (80) and home runs (9).
Alyssa Hanks and Beuthien lead the team with nine doubles each.
Courtney Medina leads the Lady Chaps in stolen bases with 27 total. In the circle,
Katera Eltsosie leads LCU with a 12-5 record and a 2.45 earned run average as well as with the most innings pitched (94.1).
Katlyn Holmes is tops on the team with four saves this season.

The Falcons are hitting .249 as a team. They are led by Cindy Juarez who is hitting .388. Juarez also leads the team in slugging percentage (.788), home runs (8) and runs-batted-in (25). Three girls co-lead the team in doubles with eight each. Adrianna Berzoza is tops on the team in hits with 36. UTPB is coming off a weekend Lone Star Conference series sweep of Western New Mexico.

LUBBOCK, Texas (February 3, 2017) – Game two of the 2017 opening day for the Lady Chaps was against former Heartland Conference foe University of Texas of the Permian Basin (0-2). LCU scored four runs off five hits in the first inning to take an early lead.
Sydney Beuthien started the scoring driving in
Courtney Medina and was followed by an
Addison Ard home run that plated two more before
Alyssa Hanks' triple drove in the last run of the inning.
Medina doubled up the middle to score
Averi Miller then
Lindzi Clemmer drove in Medina before the Era, Texas native Beuthien doubled to score Clemmer in the second inning. Beuthien doubled again in the fourth inning to once again score Clemmer and put LCU up 8-0.
Newcomer
Monique Garcia's (1-0) LCU debut was terrific facing only two batters over the minimum allowing only one walk and one hit striking out six in the shutout victory. Falcons starter Kylee Foster (0-1) lasted only two-thirds of an inning allowing four runs off five hits before giving way to Randi May who went the rest of the way giving up another four runs on five additional hits.
