Lady Chaps on the Road Against Rogers State in Heartland Series

CLAREMORE, Okla. (April 23, 2017) –The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals head to Claremore, Okla. to face Rogers State University in an important Heartland Conference series. The games were rescheduled due to heavy rainfall and then pushed back again with a single game Sunday set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Diamond Sports Complex on the RSU campus. The final two games played as a doubleheader on Monday with a noon first pitch.

The Lady Chaps lead the Heartland Conference hitting .321 as a team, led by Sydney Beuthien (.380). She also leads the team in slugging percentage (.715), runs-batted-in (46), total bases (98, leads Heartland) and home runs (12, leads Heartland). Alyssa Hanks and Beuthien lead the team with 10 doubles each. Courtney Medina leads the Lady Chaps in stolen bases with 33. In the circle, Katera Eltsosie leads LCU with a 15-5 record and a 2.26 earned run average in a team-leading 111.2 innings pitched. Katlyn Holmes is tops on the team and in the Heartland with six saves this season, placing her third in the nation.

The Hillcats are hitting .309 as a team and are currently leading the conference in several team categories: double plays per game (0.49), doubles per game (1.44), home runs per game (0.93), scoring (6.16) and slugging percentage (.476). They are led by Kenzie Lloyd, who is hitting .421. De'Leigh Emarthle leads the team and the Heartland Conference with a .770 slugging percentage. She also leads the team with 10 home runs. Morgen Blanchard sits atop the team in hits (53) and runs-batted-in (47). Harli Wheeler is first on the team in stolen bases with 21 stolen bases. In the circle, the team is led by Megan Rosewell who has appeared in 39 of the teams 46 games (36 starts). Rosewell leads the conference and sits ninth nationally with her 22 wins. She comes into the weekend with a 2.72 earned-run-average in 205.1 innings pitched and 61 strikeouts. The Hillcats enter the series coming off a midweek doubleheader split with Drury University.

LUBBOCK, Texas (March 5, 2016) – Three Lady Chaps hit home runs to drive in five of Lubbock Christian University's six runs for a 6-2 victory over the Hillcats of Rogers State to sweep the Heartland Conference series Saturday afternoon at PlainsCapital Park.
 
With one out and Lindzi Clemmer at second base Morgan Colburn launched her nation-leading 14th home run of the year to put LCU (22-7) up 2-0. Rogers State (8-15) registered a run in the second inning and another in the third to tie the game up before Liz Torres hit her fourth home run of the season to drive in Molly Davison from second base. The Lady Chaps recorded their final two runs of the game in the fourth inning when Ashton Bell led off with a rocket over the center field fence. Four batters later, Davison doubled to left center field to plate Clemmer from third base for the only Lady Chap run not driven in by a home run.
 
Katlyn Holmes (8-2) totaled her 11th start of the season while throwing all seven innings to notch her eighth victory. The junior from Gunter, Texas allowed only two runs off of seven hits while striking out three Hillcat batters. For Rogers State, Jessica Christian (4-9) started the game and went the distance by allowing six runs off of 10 hits while striking out two Lady Chaps and giving up only one walk to suffer her ninth loss of the season.
