LAREDO, Texas (April 28, 2017) –The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals head to Laredo, Texas to wrap up their regular season in a big Heartland Conference series against Texas A&M International with a doubleheader Friday starting at noon and a single game Saturday set to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Dustdevil Softball Field on the TAMIU campus. LCU enters the game in second place in the Heartland Conference standings with a mark of 12-6 in conference play. They are a game out of first place (St. Mary's 13-5), with five teams within two games back, as Oklahoma Christian (12-7), St. Edward's (11-7) and TAMIU (11-7) each behind LCU with a mathematical chance at finishing atop the conference standings.

The Lady Chaps lead the Heartland Conference hitting .330 as a team (28
th in the nation) led by
Sydney Beuthien (.392). She also leads the team in slugging percentage (.777), runs-batted-in (52), doubles (12), total bases (115, leads Heatland) and home runs (15, leads Heartland & 8
th in NCAA Div. II).
Courtney Medina leads the Lady Chaps and the Heartland Conference in stolen bases with 35 total, placing her 15
th in the nation. In the circle,
Katera Eltsosie leads LCU with a 16-5 record and a 2.33 earned run average. She leads the team with the most innings pitched (120).
Katlyn Holmes is tops on the team with a conference leading six saves this season, placing her third in the nation. LCU enters the series after having swept Rogers State in Claremore, Okla. this past weekend.

TAMIU
The Dustdevils enter the weekend hitting .225 as a team. They are led by Brenda Parnin, who is hitting .318. She also leads the team in slugging percentage (.424) and hits (42). Parnin co-leads the team in home runs with Cassie Cannon, each having three. Only four members of the team have home runs, with the team hitting 10 total all season. Four Dustdevils are tied with five doubles each to lead the team. On the bases, Cannon sits atop the team with 10 stolen bases. In the circle, TAMIU is led by Delainy Thompson who has an 11-13 record with a 2.27 earned-run-average. The Dustdevils are coming off a midweek doubleheader sweep at the hands of Texas A&M – Kingsville.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (April 29, 2016) – Lubbock Christian University softball defeated Texas A&M International 5-2 Friday at The Softball Stadium inside The Park at St. Mary's to advance to the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship game.
Lubbock Christian's (44-12) three, four, five and six hitters combined to go 8-for-11 and drove in all five of the Lady Chap runs.Â
Molly Davison hit a two-run bomb in the second inning to get the scoring started for LCU. In the third inning with the bases loadedÂ

Katera Eltsosie. The Lady Chaps scored their final two runs in the fourth inning whenÂ

Lindzi Clemmer, and Davison followed with a sacrifice fly to left field that scoredÂ
Ashton Bell. The Dustdevils (24-34) got two solo home runs in the sixth inning but would get no closer.
Katlyn Holmes (20-4) got the start in the circle for the Lady Chaps notching her 20th victory this season. Holmes threw the first six innings allowing two runs off six hits while striking out six TAMIU batters. Eltsosie (4) came in to pitch the final inning earning her fourth save of the year. Delainy Thompson (11-15) started for the Dustdevils going three and one-third innings giving up five runs on eight hits to surrender her 15th loss of the season. Brandi Giles moved from first base to the circle to pitch the final two and two-thirds innings for TAMIU allowing only one hit and one walk to LCU.
