Highlights
Lubbock Christian University had their two-match win streak derailed in straight sets to No.6 Nebraska - Kearney. LCU received kills from nine different individuals, with Hannah leading LCU in points (.5) with five kills and nine blocks. Emily hanaway led LCU in kills with seven, producing a .400 kill percentage. Tara Ziegebein led the Lopers in kills with a match high of 12.  Kelsie French led all players with 22 digs (7.3 per set).
 
How It Happened
  
Set One:
UNK used a 16-7 offensive surge in the opening set to turn a 5-4 advantage into a 21 -11 lead and cruised in the opening set 25-17. A 5-0 run late in the set by LCU was the best they could do to ake a late rally attempt. Jaiden Kennedy and Thomas each had three blocks in the set for LCU. UNK received five kills in the set from Madi Steames. The set witnessed the best hitting percentage by each team in the match, as UNK hit 16 kills and was .289 in attacking, while LCU hit .219.
 
Set Two:
LCU got off to a slow start in the second set, as the Lopers juped out to an 8-1 advantage, leading to an early LCU timeout. Trailing 18-8, LCU received a kill from Karley David and it sparked a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 18-13. UNK held off anything further from LCU and claimed the set 25-18. Channing Stewart had all four of her kills in the match in the second set to lead LCU in the set. Thomas and Kennedy each produced four blocks in the set. Ziegebein led UNK in the set with four kills.
 
Set Three:
The third set was the most action-filled of the three sets. The score was tied on 13 occassions and there were nine lead changes. LCU's biggest deficit in the set was a three-point deficit, trailing 17-14. They bounced back with a 6-0 run and led 20-17. They led 22-20, but it slipped away with the Lopers scoring five of the matches six final points for a 25-23 set win. Ziegenbein led UNK in the set with five kills. Hannaway led LCU in the set with five kills on eight attempts. French produced nine digs in the set.
    
Inside the Numbers:
1-3 – LCU fell to 1-3 in neutral site matches this season.
1-5 – LCU fell to 1-5 against ranked opponents since the 2013 season, when they joined the Heartland Conference (0-4 against top-10 programs in the span).
11 – LCU produced a season high 11 blocks, with Thomas producing nine and Kennedy combining for eight blocks. It was the Lady Chaps highest block total since producing 15 on Sept. 8, 2016 against Tarleton State. The individual block totals were career highs for both Kennedy and Thomas. Thomas' nine blocks were the most since Ariel Froeschl produced nine against Texas Woman's on Sept. 3, 2016.
14 – Setting duties were split, with both Cory Jo Martin and Brynn Warnack producing 14 assists each.
22 – Kelsie French led LCU with 22 digs. Her second highest total of the season in three-set matches.
