PREVIOUS MEETING
CLAREMORE, Okla. (April 24, 2017) –
Katera Eltsosie's back-to-back grand slam home runs in game one and
Addison Ard's three home runs on the day help the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals complete the series sweep of Rogers State 11-3 and 12-3 Monday at the Diamond Sports Complex on the RSU campus in Claremore, Okla.
The Lady Chaps (33-15) got behind early with Rogers State (27-22) jumping on the scoreboard in the first inning scoring two runs when Hillcat first baseman Taylor Santistevan singled down the right field line two score Harli Wheeler and Kenzi Lloyd. RSU added another run in the third inning when Lloyd was safe at home on a double-steal attempt to go up 3-0.
With only one hit through the first four innings the Lady Chaps got eight hits in the final two innings of play. In the fifth inning
Lindzi Clemmer got the Lady Chaps on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly to center field to score
Casey Ingram. Then with the bases loaded
Katera Eltsosie jacked a ball over scoring herself along with
Sara Ralston,
Courtney Medina and
Sydney Beuthien.
Addison Ard immediately followed with a solo-shot to put LCU up 6-3. In the sixth inning Medina drove in Ingram prior to Eltsosie coming up again with the bases loaded to hit her second grand slam home run of the game in as many at bats to complete the scoring with the Lady Chaps up 11-3.

Mayra Helguera came in to get the final two outs giving up a run on two hits.
In game two the Lady Chaps scored four runs in the first inning, the first coming when Beuthien doubled down the left field line off the third base bag to drive in Medina. Eltsosie would hit a sacrifice fly to right field to plate Ingram.
Addison Ard followed with a home run to left field before
Haley Hardison drove in Clemmer. In the second inning Beuthien hit a solo bomb over the center field fence to add another run and a sacrifice fly in the third inning off the bat of

Edie Fairchild (3-4) got the start for RSU and went the distance giving up 12 runs off 17 hits walking six to fall for the fourth time this year.
Eltsosie's back-to-back grand slam home runs are a first for the LCU as no other Lady Chap has ever had two grand slams in the same game, much less in back-to-back plate appearances. Her eight runs-batted-in for the game set a Heartland Conference single-game record for the most in a game this season and ties her for the LCU single-game record set by Kim Frazier back on February 19, 2010 against Graceland University and is the fifth most runs produced in a single game this season in all of NCAA Div. II.
