– The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals start a four-game road trip beginning with a doubleheader in Portales against Eastern New Mexico at the Greyhound Softball Field with the first pitch set for 5:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time).
LCU LEADERS
The Lady Chaps enter the contest with an overall record of 17-9, following a weekend sweep of Newman. LCU is 2-5 this season away from PlainsCapital Park. The Lady Chaps are hitting .269 as a team, led by
KK Lopez-Lui (.348).
Lindzi Clemmer leads the team in runs scored (21) and hits (28).
Morgan Dufour leads the team in home runs with 12 which sits her fifth in the nation. Dufour also leads the Lady Chaps in slugging percentage (.892) and runs batted in (30).
Courtney Medina leads the Lady Chaps in stolen bases with 16 total. In the circle,
Monique Francois leads LCU with a 11-3 record and a 1.98 earned run average. She also holds the most innings pitched (95.1) and most strikeouts (90) while opponents are only hitting .209 against her. Francois has four shutouts this season to place her ninth in the NCAA Div-II ranks.
ABOUT ENMU
The Greyhounds are hitting .265 as a team and are led by Erikka Burke who is hitting .427 with a .893 slugging percentage. Burke also leads the Greyhounds in hits (32), runs scored (20), home runs (9) and total bases (67). Elena Garcia leads the team in stolen bases with seven. In the circle Eastern New Mexico is led by Hanna Gary with a 4.34 earned run average and 38 strikeouts. Leslie Reyes leads the Greyhounds with a six wins. ENMU is coming in after being swept by Texas Woman's in a three game series this past weekend.

LUBBOCK, Texas (March 21, 2017) –
Katlyn Holmes' no-hitter in game two capped the Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals doubleheader sweep of Eastern New Mexico 3-2 and 8-0 Tuesday evening at PlainsCapital Park on the LCU campus.
The Lady Chaps (19-10) got on the scoreboard first when
Katera Eltsosie led off the second inning with a home run into the teeth of the wind over the left field fence. Later in the same inning
Roxy Curiel would drive in
Sydney Beuthien to put LCU up 2-0. The Greyhounds (13-24) would answer with two runs of their own in the fifth inning to tie up the contest.
At the end of regulation the two teams were still knotted at two apiece giving the fans more softball. In the bottom of the eighth inning
Courtney Medina led off by drawing a walk then stole second base on the next pitch. Two outs later Eltsosie hammered a shot down the right field line to bring Medina home from second for the walk-off win.
Eltsosie (9-4) got the start in the circle for LCU and went the distance allowing only two runs on four hits with two strike outs on her way to her ninth victory of the season. Kaylee Rogers (9-12) started for the Greyhounds and also threw the complete game giving up three runs on five hits and walking six to suffer her 12
th loss this year.
In game two eight Lady Chaps would get a hit. LCU jumped on the board first with a run in the first when Eltsosie hit a ball to deep left field to plate
Casey Ingram giving the Lady Chaps the early 1-0 lead.
LCU would add six more runs in the third inning with the first run of the inning coming off a bases-loaded walk to
Alyssa Hanks to bring home
Averi Miller. Beuthien followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to score Medina before
Lindzi Clemmer doubled driving in Ingram.
Addison Ard came up next and doubled to score Hanks and Clemmer.
Sara Ralston immediately followed with a double of her own to bring in Ard and put LCU on top 7-0. Beuthien would drive in
Adelae Vayas in the fourth inning to complete the scoring for the Lady Chaps and put them up 8-0.
Katlyn Holmes (3-0) threw the complete game no-hitter for LCU in the second game for her second no-hitter in a Lady Chap uniform to earn her third victory of the season. Kiana Zerr (2-9) lasted 3.2 innings for ENMU allowing eight runs on eight hits walking three for her ninth loss before Katie Ripple came in to get the final out.
