The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals return home and host Oklahoma Christian, in a Heartland Conference three-game series, with a doubleheader Friday starting at 2 p.m. The final game is set for Saturday at noon at PlainsCapital Park.
LCU LEADERS
The Lady Chaps enter the contest with an overall record of 24-11. LCU is 15-2 this season at home at PlainsCapital Park. The Lady Chaps are second in the Heartland Conference hitting .285 as a team, led by
K'leigh Arredondo (.385).
Lindzi Clemmer leads the team in hits (42).
Morgan Dufour leads the team and the Heartland Conference in home runs with 15, which sits her fourth in the nation. Dufour also leads the conference and the Lady Chaps in slugging percentage (.860), runs batted in (38) and total bases (86).
Courtney Medina leads the Lady Chaps and the Heartland Conference in stolen bases with 20 total. In the circle,
Monique Francois leads the conference as well as LCU with 18 victories (sixth in the nation). Francois also leads the Heartland and Lady Chaps in shutouts (6, 14
th most in the nation) and strikeouts (111), while boasting a 1.44 earned run average. She also holds the most innings pitched (131.2) with opponents only hitting .190 against her. The Lady Chaps return home after taking two-of-three games from St. Edward's in Austin this past weekend.

The Lady Eagles are 10-8 away from Oklahoma City this season. OC leads the conference hitting .289 as a team, led by Madison Nordyke who is hitting .371 with a .427 slugging percentage. Nordyke also leads the team in hits (53) and runs batted in (27). Bridget White has five home runs to lead the team. In the circle, Oklahoma Christian is led by Madison Hagood with a 2.23 earned run average and 9-9 record. Hagood also leads the Lady Eagles with 86 strikeout and 116.1 innings pitched. OC comes to the Hub City after a split with Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday.

The Lady Chaps lead the all-time series versus Oklahoma Christian 29-8, dating back to the Lady Chaps 2008 inaugural season. LCU split a doubleheader with the Lady Eagles earlier this season in Oklahoma City.
PREVIOUS MEETING
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (February 25, 2018) – Lubbock Christian University Lady Chap softball shutout the Lady Eagles 11-0 in game one before falling 9-0 in game two at Tom Heath Field in Oklahoma City.
LCU (9-4, 3-1) leadoff batter
Courtney Medina led off the game with a triple and two batters later
Sydney Beuthien singled up the middle to drive in Medina.
Morgan Dufour followed with a shot to center field to bring in
Lindzi Clemmer, before Beuthien scored off the bat of
KK Lopez-Lui to put LCU up 3-0 at the end of the first inning.
Pinch hitter
Haley Hardison singled to center field to plate Beuthien in the third inning before the Lady Chaps broke the game open with two outs in the fourth inning with three additional runs. Medina drew a walk and it led to her scoring. Beuthien followed with a two-run bomb over the left field fence. With two outs in the fifth inning, LCU added four more runs in the fifth inning.
Casey Ingram scored from third base on a passed ball, followed by a three-run home run off the bat of Dufour.
Monique Francois (6-1) started in the circle for the Lady Chaps and tossed a complete game shutout. She allowed five hits, while striking out five batters, to earn her sixth win of the year. Madison Hagood (2-3) got the start for Oklahoma Christian (9-8, 1-1), throwing 4.1 innings and gave up nine runs on 10 hits to suffer her third loss of the season. Hannah Andrews pitched 0.2 innings of relief for the Lady Eagles, giving up two runs and walking three Lady Chaps.
In the second game of the double header, Lubbock Christian failed to score a run, while Bridget White, Madison Nordyke, Lacey Davidson and Daelyn Denny each drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Eagles. Kaylie Upton (6-1) allowed two hits to shutout the Lady Chaps and notch her sixth victory of 2018.
Clarissa Martinez (2-2) pitched the first two innings for LCU. She allowed four funs off four hits to fall for the second time this year.
Taylor Hinojos and
Amber Carlton each pitched an inning of relief for the Lady Chaps.
