Set One:
The tandem of Vanfleet and Zoller combined for 10 kills in the opening set, which was full of drama with five lead changes and the score tied on 11 occasions. LCU was sitting set-point at 24-22, 24-23 and 25-24, but was unable to get the clinching point. A 4-1 run to close the set for the Lady Buffs allowed them to escape with a 28-26 set win.

To add salt to the wound, lightning would strike twice against the Lady Chaps, as they let a 23-19 lead slip away in the second set. LCU again faced set-point leading 24-22 and 24-23, but three straight LCU attack errors led to a 26-24 WTAMU set win. Avery Moore led LCU with four kills in the set and squad had 15 for their best set in the category. Lindsey Smith led WTAMU with five kills in the set.
