Lubbock Christian University opened their week conference preview week, which is a trio of non-conference matches against conference opponents, with a 3-0 straight-set-win over DBU (Dallas Baptist University) Thursday night.  LCU, winning their second straight match, moves to .500 (6-6) on the season and they are 2-1 in true road matches (two-match win streak in road play). Lauren Zoller produced 15 digs and 13 kills to claim a double-double. It was one of two in the match, as Bradi Marshall was also impressive with 38 assists and 10 digs.  Libero Kelsie French had 24 digs to notch 2,200 career digs to move into third on LCU's career digs list.

How It Happened
  
Set One:
LCU thrived off the serving of Klaire Torrez in the opening set. She served nine times in the set, serving six straight times during a 6-0 LCU run to take an 18-10 lead. Lauren Zoller produced seven kills in the set (on 14 attempts) to help LCU win the set 25-16. LCU produced 18 kills in the set from seven different individuals. Morgan Schwarz had four kills on five attempts in the set.
 
Set Two:
There were five lead changes and the set was tied nine times in the second set, which LCU won 25-20. Tied 20-20, LCU head coach Jennifer Lawrence called a timeout.  It led to LCU responding on a 5-0 run to claim the set. Maddie DeGuire, who finished the match with 12 digs, had two aces in the set and one came during the 5-0 run, which was capped by a kill from Zoller. Ashley Vanfleet led LCU with four kills during the set.   
 
Set Three:
Avery Moore, who matched a season high with nine kills in the match (second straight game), had four kills in the third set, with three tallied during a 7-0 LCU run to turn a 15-14 deficit into a 21-15 lead. LCU won the set 25-18. LCU had their best attack percentage of the match, with a mark of .256 in the set.  
 
Inside the Numbers:
0 – DBU did not record an ace against LCU in the match, marking the first LCU opponent to go without an ace since the last time LCU appeared at Burg Center; Oct. 7, 2017 vs. Dallas Baptist.
45 – LCU's last four wins have come in straight sets and their 45 kills Thursday was their lowest kill total of those victories.
74 – The Lady Chaps produced 74 digs Thursday, which is their third highest total for a match this season and the second highest (75 in a loss to Southwestern Okla. St. on Sept. 6) for a three-set match this season. LCU had 49 digs through the opening two sets, with Kelsie French notching 10 in each of the first two sets.
Double-Doubles – Zoller's mark of 15 digs and 13 kills and Bradi Marshall's total of 38 assists and 10 digs marked each player's third double-double of the season. The two co-lead the team in the category.
2,200 – French moved past former Lady Chap Meagan Kamplain (2002-05), who had 2,195 career digs at LCU, and into third all-time on LCU's career dig list. She is 154 digs away from passing Hayley Geer (2003-06), who is second on the list with 2,353. French is six digs away from breaking into the Heartland Conference's top-five list in career digs, as Danae Eckart (Texas-Permian Basin) is currently fifth with 2,205 career digs from 2009-12.
