Lady Chaps Head to Dallas For Conference Preview

LCU Opens Three-Match Set in Dallas with DBU

DALLAS, Texas (September 13, 2018) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals make a trip to the Dallas area Thursday to open a trio of non-conference games against Heartland Conference opponents in a conference preview event. Thursday, they face DBU (Dallas Baptist University) inside Burg Center at 4:30 p.m. before facing St. Edward's and Newman Friday at Advantage Sports Complex in Carrollton, Texas.

- The Lady Chaps hold a staggering 32-4 all-time record against the Patriots. LCU opened the all-time series winning the first 23 meetings dating back to 1983. DBU won the previous meeting 3-1 (Nov. 2, 2017), ending a streak of four consecutive wins by LCU.
- DBU was preseason picked sixth in the Heartland Conference. They went 10-16 last season, with a 5-7 mark in conference play.
- The Patriots are 5-4 this season, with a 1-0 record at home. They are coming off a 3-0 win Friday over Southern Arkansas, behind a 10-kill performance from Brooke Clark.
- DBU ranks 36th nationally in in blocks per set with a mark of 2.16 (second in the conference). Katie Nicholson ranks third in the conference with 1.03 blocks per set.
- The Pats hitting percentage of .204 leads the conference. Nicholson is third in the conference with a .292 hitting percentage.
 
GAME NOTES
- Lubbock Christian takes a 5-6 record into Dallas and they are 1-1 in true road games this season.
- Seven of LCU's 11 matches have resulted in straight-set wins. LCU is 3-4 in games resulting in 3-0 finals.    
- Aces per set (1.2) is the only team statistical category LCU ranks inside the top-three in the Heartland Conference, ranking second. Maddie DeGuire leads the conference in aces per set with 0.36.
- LCU's six losses have come to teams that have combined for a 55-12 (82.1%) record this season.
- Kelsie French leads the Heartland Conference in digs per set (5.4), ranking 32nd nationally in the category. She ranks second among active career digs leaders with 2,176 career digs. French is 20 digs away from passing Meagan Kamplain (2002-05) to rank third on LCU's career digs list.
- Lauren Zoller passed 600 career kills Saturday in LCU's win over Arkansas-Monticello. She breaks into the top-200 in active career kills leaders, ranking at 186th with 602.
