Highlights
Washburn University kept their record spotless (10-0) with a 3-0 victory over Lubbock Christian University Friday night in Chap Classic play. The Ichabods did not have any players with double figures in kills, but five players each had at least six kills. Shayla Conner produced a double-double with 25 assists and 13 digs for Washburn.
How It Happened
Set One:
There were four lead changes in the opening set. LCU led 15-14 and the set was tied 16-16 before Washburn went on an 8-0 run for a 24-16 lead. The Lady Chaps attempted a late rally, with a 5-0 run, but the come back bid was denied by an attack error and the Ichabods won the set 25-21. Allison Maxwell led WU with four kills in the set.
Set Two:
Washburn opened the second set with an 18-4 lead and cruised to claim the set 25-11. The Ichabods produced four blocks and had kills produced by eight different individuals. They also received eight digs from Faith Rottinghaus. WU produced a .303 attack percentage in the set.
Set Three:
Like the opening set, the match was tied 16-16 before Washburn closed on a big run. A 9-2 run by the Ichabods closed out the set for a 25-18 win nd a straight-set match victory. Washburn produced 18 kills in the set, with Genna Berg leading the team with five. LCU's
