Opening Thoughts
  • LCU has posted 56 runs this season, averaging 11.2 runs a game. Lubbock Christian posted at least 10 runs in their opening three games of the season, marking the first time they have completed the feat since the 2010 season.
  • Of LCU's four wins, three of the decisions for the LCU winning pitcher have been claimed in relief. LCU has four wins from four different pitchers, with Amber Carlton's "W," which came on Feb. 3 against Western New Mexico, serving as the only win claimed in a starting role this season for the Lady Chaps.
  • Alivia Villarreal leads the team at the plate. She has a .563 average and has at least one hit in all five games this season (has at least one RBI in four of the five games). She ranks fourth in the Heartland Conference in batting and on-base percentage (.650).
  • Lindzi Clemmer leads LCU with 15 total bases and poses a .882 slugging mark (seventh in the Heartland Conference). Of her seven hits this season, five have been for extra bases. Clemmer is third in the conference in runs scored (9).
  • The statistic of "game-winning RBI" is not an official statistic, but Savannah Wysocki has the game-winning RBI in two of LCU's four victories (Alexis Reed and Villarreal each have one).
  • LCU did not have a four-hit performance last season. They have had two in five games this season, as K'leigh Arredondo, LCU's RBI co-leader (9), produced four hits against Southern Nazarene and Wysocki had a four-hit game against Chadron State.
  • Wysocki leads the Heartland Conference with two triples and Annika Schwartzenberg has four doubles to rank second in the conference.
