LCU and SNU Series Snapshot
  • LCU leads the all-time series over SNU, 12-1.
  • The two former conference foes from the Sooner Athletic Conference (NAIA), have only met once since moving to NCAA Division II, and that was last season with LCU defeating SNU 11-1 on Feb. 18, 2018 at Lincoln Park in Tucson, Ariz, which was part of the Tucson Invitational Games.
  • The prior four meetings have been neutral site meetings (SNU's last meeting was in May of 2012 at the Sooner Athletic Conference in Oklahoma City, as SNU was No.15). LCU is 6-0 all-time against SNU in Lubbock, Texas and the prior meeting in Lubbock resulted in a 6-1 and 9-6 doubleheader sweep on Apr. 30, 2011.

Opening Thoughts
  • LCU improved to 12-0 all-time in home openers with a 10-2 win Friday night over Texas-Permian Basin.
  • Jordan Wehr made her return from a life-threatening automobile accident in the fall of 2017 and served as LCU's opening day starter in the circle. She went 3.1 innings without a decision and allowed one run off six hits (all singles) and struck out a pair of batters.
  • Freshman Savannah Wysocki made her LCU and college debut batting leadoff and went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI. Heartland Conference preseason all-conference selections Lindzi Clemmer (2-for-3) and K'leigh Arredondo (2-for-4) each had multi-hit performances. Blinn College transfer Alivia Villarreal also had a two-hit outing in her LCU debut (2-for-3).
  • A big turning point in the contest Friday was in the fourth inning, with LCU trailing 2-0, Wysocki and Clemmer combined for back-to-back triples.  LCU produced two triples in a game twice last season and the last was on Mar. 6, 2018 against UTPB ironically.
