Lady Chaps Wrap Up Three-game Series and Season Series With Jets

LCU and Newman Meeting For Final Time as Heartland Foes

WICHITA, Kan. (March 16, 2019) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals go for a three-game series sweep Saturday facing Newman for a fifth time this season to wrap up the regular season five-game series.

LCU and NU Series Snapshot 
  • LCU leads the all-time series over NU, 18-3.
  • The two teams met five times last season (two in Wichita, Kan. and three times in Lubbock), with LCU going 4-1 against the Jets (3-0 in Lubbock).
  • LCU and NU split a doubleheader in Lubbock earlier this season (Feb. 24) before LCU swept their doubleheader Friday and have a 3-1 record against the Jets this season.
    • Savannah Wysocki leads LCU against Newman, hitting .563 (9-for-16) with seven runs. Megan Darling is 4-for-5 (.800) in the season series.
    • Lindzi Clemmer is 7-for-14 (.500) against the Jets with five RBI.
    • KK Lopez-Liu has seven RBI against NU this season.
    • Kameron Pope leads Newman in the series, as she is 4-of-10 against LCU.
    • Emma Eck leads NU with four RBI against LCU.     
  • LCU is 8-2 all-time against Newman in Wichita.
  • The Lady Chaps were scheduled to face NU six times this season. The only non-conference tilt scheduled was canceled due to weather on Feb. 16. The previous meeting resulted in a 23-7 LCU victory in which they set a program record with an 18-run inning. Saturday's game marks the final Heartland Conference scheduled meeting between the two teams, as NU heads to the MIAA and LCU is Lone Star Conference bound next season.
