LCU and TAMIU Series Snapshot
  • LCU leads the all-time series over TAMIU, 16-7.
  • LCU is 6-4 all-time against TAMIU in Laredo.
  • The two teams split a Heartland Conference doubleheader Mar. 1 in Lubbock, Texas and again Friday in Laredo.
    • Alexa Riggs and Alivia Villarreal are each 5-for-9 (.556) to lead LCU at the plate in the series. Villarreal, who has two home runs in the series, joins K'leigh Arredondo with four RBI in the season series against TAMIU.
    • Savannah Wysocki joins Riggs and Villarreal with five hits in the series (has a double and two triples as part of her five hits).
    • LCU has averaged stranding nine runners per game despite hitting .299 as a team with runners on base.
    • LCU has been able to get the leadoff batter aboard .444 in the series, compared to holding TAMIU to .148 in the same category.
    • Melanie Gamboa leads TAMIU in the season series, going 4-for-13 at the plate to hit .308 through the first four games of the series. Maddison Schofield has three RBI against LCU this season.
  • The two squads met six times last season, with the two teams going 3-3 in the head-to-head meetings.
  • Prior to this season, the previous six meetings in Laredo resulted in the winning team winning via shutout (LCU winning four of the six).

Playoff Scenarios
  • LCU is currently sitting as the No.4-seed for the five-team Heartland Conference Tournament, but a win Saturday could possibly move them into the No.3-seed depending on the outcome of the doubleheaders involving Oklahoma Christian (facing Rogers State) and St. Mary's (facing St. Edward's). LCU (16-13 in conference) has the tie-breaker advantage over Rogers State (16-12) if the two squads finish in a tie for third place in the conference standings. It is possible LCU could move into a share of second place in either a two-or-three-way tie. If it is a two-way tie with St. Mary's, then St. Mary's would own the tiebreaker to take the No.2-seed. If it is a three-way tie (involving LCU, RSU and StMU), then the No.2-seed would go to St. Mary's and LCU would be the No.3-seed.
