Chaps Finish 65th in Collegiate Rocket League Qualifier

LCU Finished Nearly 100 Spots Better than Slated

This Sunday the LCU eSports Rocket League team had their first qualifier for CRL (Collegiate Rocket League), which is annually the largest and most important event. Nearly 1,200 teams were entered into the event and a limited eight of the 1,200 would qualify for the main event. LCU's pool had 228 teams competing for four qualifier spots. The Chaps were seeded 161st, which was an improvement from the last semester. They ended up losing their winners side match in a close triple overtime, dropping LCU into the lower bracket. They progressed through three games in the lower bracket, eventually losing in their fourth lower-bracket match, eliminating them in the tournament at 65th place. LCU out-placed their seed by nearly 100 places and the squad was very positive in regards with the results. LCU is using everything they learned Sunday to make it even further into the second qualifier Oct. 10 (Sunday).
