Q: Transitioning to the Spring Semester, what do the January and February months consist of for the Esport gamers?

A: January is preparation for the Spring Semester of NACE. February is the beginning of the competition.

Q: Recap us on some of the individuals that are having fantastic performances this semester and what is it about the performances that have made them unique to the LCU Esports program…

A: While these games are team sports many individuals had great semesters including Gavin Galaviz and Leo Hernandez. Gavin Galaviz, last semester, averaged taking 33 stocks during the regular season averaging 5.5 stocks taken per game. Leo Hernandez had at least 2 full team eliminations every match during the regular season.

Q: What excites you looking ahead to the completion of the Spring Semester?

A: I'm excited to see some of the new guys step up and compete. In particular, the Overwatch 2 starting lineup is drastically different from last semester.

Q: How has the Esports program at LCU grown the most this year?

A: We have grown to a team that knows they can compete at the highest level against schools far bigger than LCU. The number of athletes on the roster also had 53 players last semester, the largest the program has ever been.

Q: What advantage does LCU's esports program have over other programs they compete against?

A: We have the opportunity to compete in a dedicated space as well as have all our games streamed with the dedicated production room. We travel to get more competition experience at LAN events and unlike many clubs that University have we have additional resources and funding to keep equipment top of the line and improve the overall experience for the player
