LADY CHAP HEADERS
- Lubbock Christian is playing on the road for the final time in the 2021 regular season, travelling to take on Eastern New Mexico Wednesday night
- The Lady Chaps have attempted 190 shots this season for an average of 12.7 per game. Of those, 38.9 percent, or 74 total, have been on goal
- The Greyhounds average just .625 goals per game this season, which ranks dead last in the league. They also allow 1.81 goals per game
- LCU is 6-0-1 this season when they score the first goal of the game, but they are 1-6 when opponents score first. The one comeback win was against NMHU
- Lubbock Christian goalkeepers Hannah Wise and Megan Mirabal have combined for a save percentage of .797 this season, which is the second-best mark in the conference

Wednesday's game is the last on the road in the regular season for the Lady Chaps, who are 3-3-1 away from home this season. Lubbock Christian has averaged 1.14 goals on 10.9 shots per game on the road with wins over CSU-Pueblo, Texas A&M-International and Dallas Baptist. Eastern New Mexico plays its home games at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium, which opened in 2016. It has stadium seating for 4,000 fans and is also the home of the ENMU football and track & field teams. The playing surface is UBU artificial turf.
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Throughout the 2021 season, Lubbock Christian has seen more and more contribution from players in their first season of collegiate soccer. Early in the year, it was
Avery Jennings and
Kenley Blevins seeing regular playing time. Jennings and Hinojosa have both played in 13 of the 15 games this year. Jennings and Blevins have both have a goal and an assist each this year. As the season has worn on though, fellow true freshmen
Malena Watzlawik,
Madi Fuller and
Giorgia Terzoni have seen their playing time increase.
MAINSTAYS
Only four LCU players have appeared in every single game this season, including
Arely Jimenez,
Brittany Jones,
Julie Shahi and
Makenna Pate. Jimenez is also the team leader in minutes played at 1,290, including the full 90 minutes in four of the last five games. Shahi is the only other Lady Chap to start in all 15 games, and although she missed one game,
Shadiana Haney is second on the team in minutes played with 1,211. Besides Jimenez and Haney, four LCU players have seen more the 1,000 minutes of action this year.
SHOT-STOPPERS
The Lubbock Christian defense has been one of the best in the Lone Star Conference this season, allowing an average of just 1.07 goals per game. Furthermore, opponents have been limited to just 193 shots or 12.9 per game, and on 43 percent (or 83) of those have been on goal. They have collected five shutouts on the year overall. Haney and Mayben anchor the back line along with Jones and
Kaylen McNatt, who have both played over 1,000 minutes. Behind them, goalkeepers
Hannah Wise and
Megan Mirabal have combined for 63 saves and a save percentage of .797.
SPREAD THE WEALTH
The Lady Chaps have average 1.20 goals per game this season, and those goals have come from all over the field. Tied for the team lead are Pate and
Allison Scott with four apiece, and the two have led the offense with a combined total of 56 shots. Jimenez and
Celia Duarte have scored two goals apiece, and another six LCU players have found the back of the net at least once for 10 total goal-scorers. Lubbock Christian's seven game-winners have also come from six different players, with only Pate netting multiple. Haney has the most shots on goal (4) of any LCU player who has yet to score.
MILESTONES
The 2021 season has seen a number of milestones for the Lady Chaps. The first was in the opening game of the season, when a win over New Mexico Highlands was the 100
th in program history. A pair of individual marks were also set later in the season
Hannah Wise notched the 200
th save of her already prestigious career at LCU. Later in the season with her appearance against Texas A&M-Commerce,
Allison Scott became the all-time program leader in games played with 76.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Six ENMU players have scored goals this season, but Katey Stice is the only player to find the back of the net more than once. She has scored five times
- Abbey Barnum was hired as the head coach of the Greyhounds in March of 2020, and since ENMU did not compete in the spring 2021 season, this is her first season at the helm of the program
- Whitney Dockweiler has been the only goalkeeper used by the Greyhounds this season, posting a goals against average of 1.78 and a save percentage of .785 in almost 1,500 minutes of play
- ENMU's only two wins this season came early in the season, as they took down CSU-Pueblo 2-0 and Western Colorado 1-0 in nonconference play
- Sophomore defender Megan Janikowski has played every minute of every ENMU game this season, leading the team with 1,470 total minutes
