How It Happened

Set One:
The first set was the most competitive in the match, with seven lead changes and the score tied on 10 occasions. Zoe Park assisted on a block and produced a kill to help LCU rebound from a 17-15 deficit to take a 20-18 lead. LCU then suffered three consecutive attack errors, which snowballed into a 5-0 WT run for a 23-20 WT lead. Sage Chain, who led LCU with five kills in the set, pulled LCU within a points (24-23), but a kill by Miller clinched the set for WT. Elliott and Miller each had five kills for WT, who had 17 kills in the set. The Lady Buffs also had 14 assists from Sadie Snay and 12 digs from Chandler Vogel in the set.

Set Two:
WT used a pair of 4-0 runs in the set to build a lead to 14-9. WT, limiting themselves to two attack errors, used an 11-5 stretch in which they kept LCU from scoring consecutive points and built their lead to 20-13. LCU thought they went on a 3-0 run to cut their deficit to 20-16, but a replay challenge reversed the point, which was the first of five straight WT points to claim the set 20-15. Jenna Lyons led LCU with four kills in the set, while Miller led WT with five kills. WT had a .306 attack percentage, as LCU was attacking at .064 in the set.

Set Three:
LCU had their best hitting set in the third set, hitting .163, with 13 kills. They had leads of 11-5, 13-8 and 16-13, but then the momentum changed, as LCU had four consecutive attack errors. WT went on a 9-3 run (included a 5-0 stretch) and led 23-19, before closing out the match with the final two points to win the set 25-20. WT had some big numbers in the set, as Elliott had six kills, Snay provided 13 assists and Vogel produced 11 digs. Parker led LCU with five kills in the set.
