Set One:
Two kills each from
Sage Post and
Jenna Lyons, along with a pair of aces served by
Maddie DeGuire sparked a 10-4 start to the match for LCU, but the large lead quickly went away, as UTPB responded with a 6-1 run to cu the LCU lead to 11-10. Over a 10-point stretch, eight of the points were off errors and the sequence concluded with the. Set tied 17-17. Post had two straight kills to regain the LCU lead. Despite UTPB bouncing back to tie the set 19-19, LCU never trailed.
Avery Moore joined the pair of Post and Lyons to each have a kill in the final 6-3 LCU run to claim the set 25-22. Post (6) and Lyons (3) combine for nine of LCU's 12 kills in the set.
Set Two:
Jalee Sims had a kill to give LCU a 2-0 lead to start the second set, but UTPB responded with a 12-4 run for a 12-6 lead. LCU would never get the deficit less than a four-point-margin and UTPB closed the second set on a 4-0 run to win the set 25-15. Marissa Aguilar and Aquincia Strambler each had four kills to lead the Falcons in the set. UTPB had the matches' best set attacking, as they hit .244 in the set. Sims led LCU with 11 digs in the set.
Set Three:
An early 6-1 run by UTPB provided them a promising 6-3 lead.
Zoe Parker sparked LCU with a 7-3 run for a 10-9 LCU lead. It start a series of eight lead changes and the score tied 14 times in the set. UTPB was leading 23-22 before LCU called a timeout and closed the set on a 3-0 run to take the set 25-23.
Avery Moore and
Kalli Dalland each had a kill in the late surge to take the set. LCU had 16 kills in the set, with Moore (5) and Parker (4) combining for nine in the set. Sims assisted on 12 of the 16 kills by LCU in the set. Strambler had five of UTPB's nine kills in the set.
Set Four:
Like the third set, which featured the score tied 14 times, the fourth set produced 15 ties. A kill by Strambler gave UTPB the largest lead of the set, at 13-10.
Sage Chain had a pair of kills to give LCU a 7-3 run and LCU took the lead in the set 17-16. LCU trailed 22-21 before the set was tied 24-24.
Sage Chain produced a solo block and followed with a kill to help LCU claim the set 26-24 despite a 16-10 advantage in the set in kills by UTPB (another five kills in the set by Strambler). Sims led LCU with 12 digs in the set. Parker and Chain each co-led LCU with three kills in the set.
