LUBBOCK, Texas (February 4, 2021) – Lubbock Christian University and Washburn have agreed to cancel their scheduled Sunday contest at PlainsCapital Park to allow Washburn a safe return trip to Topeka, Kan.
 
Both teams are scheduled to play Friday at 2 p.m. as part of the Lubbock Sports College Invitational. The invitational consists of 16 games played on two different sites (Lubbock Christian University's PlainsCapital Park and Lubbock Christian High School's softball field Friday and Saturday). Washburn was going to stay and play an additional game Sunday against LCU (originally, the only game scheduled on Sunday), but with wintry conditions invading Kansas this weekend, the cancellation of the game allows Washburn a safer return to Kansas.
