LEADING OFF
Saturday's matchup between Lubbock Christian University will decide the series, as the two teams meet in a rubber game after a pair of dominant offensive performances by each team in Friday's doubleheader. A win today would also bump either team up to the .500 mark (3-3). LCU dropped the series opener 15-5 and dominated game two 12-0, leaving the door wide open for either team on Saturday.

STARTING PTICHING MATCHUP
LCU – Junior righty
Shandon Herrera will get the nod for the Chaps, making his first appearance all season. In 2020 though, Herrera made eight appearances, including two starts. He allowed 19 runs (all earned) in 21.2 innings of work. He struck out seven batters but also walked 14 in that time. Herrera came to LCU straight out of high school, and has spent a total of 48.0 innings on the mound across 28 appearances in his Chaparral career.
Â
UAFS – Trevor Johnson is the likely candidate to start for the Lions, and he will try to fare better than his brother Brayden, who gave up seven runs in 2.1 innings on Friday. Trevor has one start this year and was solid, allowing just two runs in 3.2 innings of work. He allowed four hits and walked one while striking out six batters. In 2020, Trevor made seven appearances, including four starts, posting an ERA of 4.55 in that time.
