Game 1
LCU Highlights:
Turning Point:
Tara Stewart hit a two-out two-run pinch-hit single for Oklahoma Christian in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.
How it Happened:
- A lead-off walk led to a run for the Lady Eagles in the top of the first inning, with the run being the first earned run allowed by LCU pitcher Taylor Franco on the season.
- Wysocki led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple down the leftfield line, leading to a sacrifice fly by Herrera to tie the game 1-1.
- A trio of walks in the sixth inning led to a two-run single by pinch hitter Stewart. The second run, which was scored by Hampton Hays (daughter of OC head coach Shanon Hays and niece of LCU head coach Daren Hays), was allowed via catchers interference.
- Wysocki, Herrera and Makemson each singled in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Wysocki got hung-up after slipping rounding third (on Makemson's single) and the next two batters struck out to end the threat without the Lady Chaps getting a run across.
Inside the Numbers:
- Taylor Franco allowed her first earned run of the season in the first inning, ending her mark to start the season at 45.2 innings without a allowing an earned run. Franco and the Lady Chaps were not a fan of the strikezone, as Franco, entering the game with five walks on the season, walked seven in the game.
- Franco, pitching her seventh complete game of the season, allowed three hits in the loss in the circle. She forced OC batters into 17 groundouts (two fly-outs).
- Wysocki's lead-off triple in the bottom of the first inning was her second triple of the season and her 14th of her LCU career.
- Hererra's sacrifice fly was her second of the season and third of her LCU career. LCU has not had a player with more than two sacrifice flies in a single season since the 2018 season.

- Lee was 1-for-3 with a single and a stolen base
- Angela Donaldson and Herrera were each 1-for-3

- Janzen added another run in the sixth inning with a two-out single on a 3-2 pitch. Janzen eventually scored on a double-steal play with runners on the corner.
Inside the Numbers:
- All four runs for OC were scored with two outs. They were 5-for-12 in two-out at-bats.
- OC pitcher Bailey Turner faced 16 straight batters without allowing a hit, as she eventually went the complete game in seven shutout innings, holding LCU to four hits.
- LCU was 1-for-8 in at-bats with runners in scoring position.
- The shutout loss was LCU's first shutout loss of the season. They were shutout once last season (Feb. 16, 2020 vs. Colo. Colorado Springs in Edmond, Okla.). LCU was last shutout at home on Mar. 13, 2018 against Rogers State.
- The loss marked the third consecutive home loss for LCU, which marks a first since Mar. 11-13 of the 2017 season (lost to No.3 St. Mary's and No.8 Angelo State).
- The loss also places LCU with a 0-2 record against nationally ranked programs this season (LCU was 8-0 last season against nationally ranked foes).
