- Makemson led off the third inning with a single and it led to a three-run home run to right field by Muniz for a 6-0 LCU advantage.
- Texas Woman's took advantage of an error during a double by Taylor Goulet, scoring their only run of the game in the sixth inning.
- The first three LCU batters reached in the bottom of the sixth inning, setting up a RBI for Lee.

- Muniz hit her sixth home run of the season and seventh of her LCU career. Her four-RBI performance matched a career-high for a second time this season.
- While TWU was 3-for-16 (.188) with runners on base and 1-for-7 (.143) with runners in scoring position, LCU was .316 (6-for-19) with runners on base and .294 (5-for-17) with runners in scoring position.
Game 2
LCU Highlights:
Turning Point:
Savannah Wysocki's home run in the bottom of the third inning not only led off the bottom of the inning, but it tied the game and was a quick response after surrendering two runs in the top half of the inning.
How it Happened:
- Makemson opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a sacrifice bunt to score Wysocki.
- Paige Tamayo lined a single to score Kate Franz in the third inning to tie the game for TWU. During the same play, Franz ran to second base on the throw home and the throw-down sailed into centerfield and Franz was able to run home to give the Pioneers a 2-1 lead.
- Wysocki led off the bottom half of the inning with a leadoff home run to tie the game 2-2. It was the first of three runs in the inning for LCU. Athena Muniz had a bases-loaded infield single and Alivia Villarreal hit a sacrifice fly to cap the inning's scoring, as LCU led 4-2.
- Herrera hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, before LCU closed the game with a four-run fifth inning. Angela Donaldson, Addi Lewis, Wysocki and Herrera all doubled in the fifth inning before Hailey Jones closed the game with a RBI-single.
Inside the Numbers:
- Dakota Stotyn collected the win in the circle to improve to 7-2 on the season. She allowed one earned run off five hits in 4.2 innings.
- Villarreal had both a sacrifice fly and sacrifice bunt in the game. It marks the second game this season in which LCU, as a team, has had a sac-fly and sac-bunt in the same game. Villarreal, who did not have a sacrifice fly prior to this season (in two prior seasons with LCU), has three on the season.
- LCU matched a season-high in hits (14), doubles (6) and extra-base hits (8).
