The Lady Chaps rolled behind some valuable contributions, led by a 10-kill, 5-block outing from Hannah Froeschl. The Lady Chaps, who also received seven kills each from true-freshmen Kaitlyn Mayo and Aaliyah Gray, had a double-double from Jalee Sims (26 assists, 11 digs) and five aces served by Zoe Parker. Mayo, who appeared in two of the game's three sets, also added five blocks. Hannah Rouse led OC with seven kills and 11 digs in the losing effort.

How It Happened

Set One:
After an opening-serve point to the Eagles, LCU responded with an 8-0 run. A serving ace by Chloe Menard provided LCU a lead they wouldn't relinquish. A 6-2 OC surge cut LCU's lead to 11-8, but LCU countered with a 10-2 run en route to a 25-14 set win. LCU hit .419 in the opening frame and Jenna Lyons led the squad with four kills.

Set Two:
LCU ran away with the second set, opening the frame with a 7-1 run behind four UAFS errors. The Lady Chaps later used another 7-1 run, and scored the final seven points, to run away with a 25-9 set win. LCU produced a .500 attack percentage in the set, with Jenna Lyons leading LCU in the frame with three kills on four attempts.

Set Three:
Parker had four aces in the third set, and they were all part of an 8-0 run in which she had eight consecutive serves. The run helped LCU rebound from a 5-4 deficit, providing a 12-5 lead. OC cut the gap to 14-10, but LCU closed the set outscoring OC 11-5 for a 25-15 set win. Mayo posted five kills for LCU, who held a 12-5 kill advantage over the final set. LCU had five aces in the set.

Inside the Numbers:
5-0 With LCU 2-0 at home and 3-0 on the road, LCU is 5-0 in non-neutral site matches.  The two home wins also have LCU 2-0 in LSC play (four LSC programs are off to a 2-0 start).
5 Zoe Parker served a career-high five aces, which ties as the fourth most by a Lady Chaps member since 2008 and ties for the third most for three-set matches over the same period. Maddie DeGuire was the last Lady Chap to accomplish Parker's achievements, as DeGuire last had five aces on Sept. 22, 2019 (vs. Angelo State). DeGuire posted six aces on Sept. 22, 2018 (vs. Northwestern Okla. State), which was the last time a Lady Chap had at least five aces in a three-set match.
5-1 The Lady Chaps three-set victory places them with a 5-1 record in matches decided in three sets.
5 LCU's Jalee Sims notched her sixth double-double of the season and it was her 16th of her LCU career. It was her fourth consecutive double-double performance.
7 LCU had seven aces in the match, which matched a season high. Ironically both occurrences have been against Oklahoma Christian.
4-0 The two programs were meeting in Lubbock for the first time ever. LCU's win moved them to 4-0 all-time against OC.

What's Next
LCU heads on the road and will face Cameron in Lawton, Okla. Friday at 5:30 p.m. inside Aggie Gym. The Lady Chaps are on their second three-match win streak of the season.
