How It Happened

Set One:
Kills by Kalli Dalland and Gray helped LCU jump out to a 5-2 lead, but the Aggies were able to come back and tie the set 5-5 and 6-6. LCU then responded with 7-1 run for a 13-7 lead spearheaded by a pair of kills by Jenna Lyons. Cameron was able to cut LCU's lead to 13-11 before LCU closed the set on a 12-6 run for a 25-17 set win. Gray was dominant in the set for LCU with six kills on 10 attempts. LCU hit .316 in the opening frame.

Set Two:
LCU jumped out with another big lead early, as three Cameron ball-handling errors and two attack errors led to a 6-1 LCU lead and an early Cameron timeout. The Aggies responded from the timeout, going on a 6-2 run. They trailed LCU by one point on four occasions, but LCU finally broke free with a 5-1 run for a 20-15 lead. Despite a late 4-1 Cameron rally, LCU won the set 25-21. Hannah Froeschl and Sage Chain each had a trio of kills in the set win for the Lady Chaps.

Set Three:
The Lady Chaps opened the third set with another 6-1 run, with two kills by Lyons representing the only LCU points not earned from Cameron miscues. Again, Cameron was able to march back, cutting the LCU lead to 8-6 on a 5-2 run. Cameron was unable to score in consecutive fashion the remainder of the set, as LCU closed on an 8-3 surge for a 25-14 set win. Grey and Lyons each contributed three kills in the set for LCU.

Inside the Numbers:
6-0 With LCU 2-0 at home and now 4-0 on the road, LCU is 6-0 in non-neutral site matches.
12 LCU has a four-match win streak for the first time since the 2019 season and they have won three consecutive 3-0 matches for a second time this season. During their current streak, they have also won 12 consecutive sets, which is their longest sequence of consecutive set wins since a stretch during the 2018 season.
6-1 The Lady Chaps three-set victory places them with a 6-1 record in matches decided in three sets.
6 LCU's Jalee Sims notched her seventh double-double of the season and it was her 17th of her LCU career. It was her sixth consecutive double-double performance.
10 Aaliyah Gray posted 10 kills and has at least 10 kills in three of LCU's four road matches this season.
23 Kendall Mahaney posted a career high 23 digs, completing the task in a three-set match with an average of 7.7 digs per set. She posted nine digs in the opening set. Her match total marked her third match to post at least 20 digs in a match.
3-3 The two programs were meeting for a sixth time all-time, but it was the first meeting not at a neutral site and LCU's first match at Cameron. The win placed LCU with a 3-3 all-time record against the Aggies. It was LCU's first win over CU since Aug. 26, 2005.
