Wysocki Becomes LCU's Fifth Academic All-District Selection

LUBBOCK, Texas (May 17, 2022) – The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Softball Academic All-District selections in NCAA Division II were announced, with Lubbock Christian University outfielder Savannah Wysocki receiving the honors in District 6.

Wysocki is a three-time All-Conference selection and had received Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team recognition as well this season. The Pre-Med major in her fourth season with the Lady Chaps hit a whopping .529 with nine hits in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional to finish the season hitting .367. She topped 50 hits (finished with 62) for the third time in her career. Wysocki hit seven triples on the season and 22 in her LCU career, which actively leads NCAA Division II in career triples and is the most for a career in LCU history. The seven triples on the season ranks 12th in all of Division II. Wysocki, finishing with 28 stolen bases this season, finished with 86 in her career, ranking 18th among active career NCAA Division II leaders (all-time leader in program history). The El Paso, Texas native's 28 stolen bases this season ranks 29th nationally (fifth in the LSC).

Over her career, Wysocki appeared in 174 games and hit .359. She posted 220 career hits with 86 career RBI over four seasons.

The accolade for Wysocki marks the fifth Lady Chaps softball member to receive the honor in the program's history (since joining NCAA status in 2014) and the first to receive the honor since Lauren Singletary in 2020. Previous Lady Chaps recipients include Morgan Dufour (2018), Morgan Colburn (2016) and Ashton Drury (Bell) (2015).

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. All-District honorees are nominated for Academic All-District honors.
