The 34-point quarter broke the prior record of 33 points, which was achieved on Mar. 1, 2018 in Tulsa, Okla. against Texas A&M International. The NCAA began using quarters in women's basketball during the 2015-16 season. LCU has achieved at least 30 points in a quarter three times this season.

Cameron was unable to change the tempo in the second quarter. After closing the final 4:17 of the first quarter without a point, the Aggies were scoreless the opening 4:09 of the second quarter. Meanwhile, LCU put together a 23-0 run during the span to build the advantage to 42-6. LCU received seven points in the second quarter from Maci Maddox and led at the break 54-14.
