Kennedy Chappell earned First Team All-South Central Region recognition.
Junior guard
Kennedy Chappell has been the driving force behind Lubbock Christian's success this season, leading the Lady Chaps in scoring (15.4 ppg), rebounding (6.3 rpg), assists (104) and steals (55) while starting all 30 games. The Heath, Texas native ranks sixth in the Lone Star Conference in scoring and second in assists, while her 462 total points lead the conference. Chappell also paced the LSC in free throw attempts (185) and leads the league in free throws made (143), which ranks third in the South Central Region. Known for her efficiency and versatility, she is shooting 50.7 percent from the field—second in the LSC and fourth in the region—while averaging 3.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game in 33.5 minutes per contest. A preseason Lone Star Conference Player to Watch, Chappell has recorded 26 double-figure scoring performances, including 10 games of 20 or more points, and earned both LSC Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week honors during the season. Her all-around impact also earned her First Team All-Lone Star Conference recognition while being named to the league's All-Defensive and All-Academic teams. This is Chappell's first All-Region accolade.
Voting for the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region team was conducted by sports information directors from NCAA Division II institutions across the region. The all-region selections represent the top performers from the Lone Star Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, with the process ultimately leading to the announcement of the D2CCA All-America teams later this month.
Olivia Reed Thyne of Colorado Mesa was named the South Central Region Player of the Year after leading the region in scoring (22.1 points per game) and rebounding (11.4 per game) while shooting 62.8 percent from the field. Joining Chappell on the All-South Central Region First Team were Gabby Elliott of Texas Woman's, Amyah Moore Allen of Colo. Colorado Springs and Mason Rowland of Colorado Mesa.
The Second Team included Sofia Baldessari of Colorado School of Mines, Averee Kleinhans of Texas Woman's, Ivey Schmidt of Western Colorado, Majik Esquivel of Angelo State and Kyla Kane of West Texas A&M.

th NCAA postseason appearance, which gets underway Friday with No.6-seed LCU opening the quarterfinals of the NCAA Div. II South Central Regional with a noon tip against No.3-seed No.4 Colorado Mesa.
