Lady Chaps Clash with Midwestern State on Halloween Night

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Lubbock Christian University women's soccer team travels to Wichita Falls for a match with Midwestern State on Halloween night.

LADY CHAPARRAL HEADERS
  • The Lady Chaps' match with Texas Woman's was canceled due to weather on Saturday (Oct. 28).
  • LCU is 4-4-1 in Lone Star Conference play and finds themselves in eighth place in the conference standings.
  • The Lady Chaps have outscored their opponents 20 to 16 this season, averaging 1.33 goals per game on 12.9 shots a game.
  • The Lady Chaps have taken 194 shots, 87 of which have been on goal.
HOMETOWN HERO
  • Lubbock native Lexi De La Cruz has been one of the best offensive players in the Lone Star Conference this season scoring nine goals and dishing out six assists.
  • She has scored the most goals in the LSC and is top-5 in the conference in assists, shots on goal, game-winning goals, and points.
 FLASHY FRESHMAN
  • Freshman Forward Emily Douglas has been De La Cruz's partner in crime on the offensive end this season.
  • The Phoenix, AZ. Native has found the back of the net three times this season and contributed four assists as well.
  • She is top-10 in the LSC in game-winning goals and assists.
 MURRAY MADNESS
  • Freshman Goalkeeper Kara Murray has started every game for the Lady Chaps. Facing 156 shots and making 59 saves.
  • She has a .787 save percentage and allows 1.15 goals per game.
  • She has recorded three shutouts this season.
  • Kara was named the LSC Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 24).
THE SERIES WITH MIDWESTERN STATE
  • The Lady Chaps and Pioneers have been evenly matched over the years. LCU is 2-2 all-time against MSU.
  • The Lady Chaps topped the Mustangs 1-0 in 2022.
  • The Lady Chaps are 1-2 all-time on the road against MSU.
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
  • Midwestern State is coming off a 3-1 win over West Texas A&M on Saturday (Oct. 28). They enter Tuesday's match with a 4-3-3 conference record and sit in sixth place in the LSC standings.
  • The Mustangs have outscored their opponents 25 to 18 this season, averaging 1.56 goals per game on 13.4 shots a game.
  • Midwestern State's offense is led by the duo of Lexi Beck and Isabella Cruz.
  • Beck has been one of the top offensive players in the LSC this season, coming into Tuesday's match with seven goals and six assists. She is in the top-10 in the conference in goals, assists, game-winning goals, and points.
  • Cruz has added five goals of her own and is top-10 in the LSC in shots and goals.
  • Goalkeeper Lexi Jackson has started 12 matches in net for the Mustangs. She has faced 133 shots and made 35 saves in those starts. She allows 1.16 goals a game and has a .714 save percentage.
  • Midwestern State is 4-1-3 at home this season.
  • The Mustangs are coached by the 2021 LSC Coach of the Year Ryan Spence, who is in his sixth season.
