LUBBOCK, Texas (February 26, 2023) – No.9 Lubbock Christian University and Texas Woman's complete their Lone Star Conference three-game series Sunday, and with windy conditions expected, the teams will move up their doubleheader at Maner Park for a noon and 2 p.m. start.

 LCU and TWU Series Snapshot
  • With wins in the previous six meetings, LCU has a 7-2 all-time series advantage.
  • LCU opened the series with a pitcher's duel Friday, which LCU won 1-0 at home.
    • TWU's Alyssa LeBlanc (5-3) held LCU to three hits and struck out 17 LCU batters, which is an LCU program record for strikeouts by an opposing pitcher.
    • Taylor Franco went 6.1 innings with a no-hitter and finished with a two-hit shutout in 8.0 innings pitched.
    • Skylar Herrera had the game-winning walkoff hit, which followed a triple by Tiarra Delrosario.  
  • Last season, the two teams met in Denton, Texas for the first time and LCU swept the series with a 3-2 and 16-0 (6 inn.) win on April 1, 2022.
  • The first four meetings were neutral site contests, with the two teams splitting 2-2.
  • The two teams have played three games in Lubbock (the first two were on April 9, 2021 with Lubbock winning 7-0 and 10-2 in a five-inning final) and LCU holds a 3-0 mark at home against the Pioneers.
  • Maxine Valdez (two career appearances) is 1-0 in her career against TWU, including a complete game no-hitter in LCU's 16-0 win last season in six innings. Valdez, who had 13 strikeouts in her no-hitter, has 14 strikeouts and has not allowed a hit in 6.1 career innings against the Pioneers.
  • Kasey Flores is 3-for-9 (.333) in her career against TWU (3 games) with two home runs and four RBI.
  • Taylor Franco has a career 3-0 record and 0.32 ERA against TWU, which includes one run allowed and 31 strikeouts in 22.0 innings (opponents hitting .200).
  • Skylar Herrera has a .412 average in five career games against TWU with seven hits leading to a homer, three doubles and six RBI.
  • Bailey Hughes has a home run in one career at-bat against TWU (two-run homer).
