Back At It... Rubber Match Set to Close Out Series in Kingsville

12 Hours After Their Saturday Night Doubleheader, LCU and TAMUK Close Out LSC Series

KINGSVILLE, Texas (March 12, 2023) – No. 10 Lubbock Christian University wraps up a sequence of nine games over a 10-day span over 1,200 miles Sunday with a noon first-pitch at Hubert Field against Texas A&M-Kingsville for the rubber match of their three-game Lone Star Conference series.

  • LCU has a 6-5 lead in the all-time series.
  • Saturday, the two teams split a doubleheader, with LCU rebounding from a 6-4 loss with a 10-0 run-rule win in five innings.
    • Riley Flores is 4-for-5 for LCU in the series with three RBI.
    • Kamryn Gibbs is 3-for-5 with a 1.400 slugging mark in the series, which includes a home run, double and six RBI.

  • Maxine Valdez is LCU's only active pitcher with a career win over TAMUK and is 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA against the Javelinas. She has 11 strikeouts in 12.0 career innings in two appearances all-time against TAMUK.
