Wednesday Doubleheader Closes Out Three-Game Set With Aggies

Lady Chaps Playing Final Midweek Games of Regular Season

LUBBOCK, Texas (April 12, 2023) – No.10 Lubbock Christian University closes out a midweek Lone Star Conference three-game series against Cameron with a Wednesday doubleheader, which gets underway at noon at Maner Park.

LCU and CU Series Snapshot
  • The Lady Chaps have won the prior three contests head-to-head and have a 6-3 all-time series lead.
  • LCU swept the LSC doubleheader series last season in Lawton, Okla. (Mar. 5, 2022), as LCU won 13-8 and 11-10.
  • The Lady Chaps opened this season's series with a 4-1 win Tuesday at Maner Park.
    • Amanda Valdiviezo is 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI in the series
    • Tiarra Delrosario and Hope Banales each have a pair of runs scored
    • LCU has out-hit CU 6-2 in the series and half of each team's hits in the series have been for extra bases
  • Six of the nine meetings have been decided by two runs or less.
  • This season marks the second ever series in Lubbock. The previous meetings in Lubbock were split (1-1) following a doubleheader split in Lubbock on Mar. 7, 2021. LCU's win Tuesday placed LCU with a 2-1 all-time record against Cameron at home.
  • Taylor Franco is 4-0 in her LCU career against Cameron with a 2.59 ERA and holding the Aggies to a .200 batting average. She has 20 strikeouts in 27.0 innings pitched.
  • Skylar Herrera (seven career games) and Kamryn Gibbs (five career games) have combined for nine RBI in their career against the Aggies. Herrera has five RBI and is hitting .385 (10-for-26) all-time against CU.
  • In three career games against Cameron, Tiarra Delrosario is 4-for-10 (.400) with a .500 on-base percentage.
  • Kasey Flores has been held to one hit in three career games against CU, but she has drawn seven walks and has a .667 on-base percentage.
  • Maxine Valdez has never been the pitcher of record against Cameron, but has made four career appearances and has 10.1 shutout innings with 18 strikeouts and three hits allowed (Cameron is hitting .088 against Valdez).
  • Hannah Wells has one career at-bat against Cameron and it was for a home run, which has her and Hope Banales (homered Tuesday) as the only active Lady Chap with a home run against CU.
