LCU Closes Out Series With No.12 West Texas A&M

LUBBOCK, Texas (April 22, 2023) – No.16 Lubbock Christian University aims to avoid a series sweep to No.12 West Texas A&M Saturday, as they host the Lady Buffs at 1 p.m. for Senior Day and the final regular season game at Maner Park.

LCU and WT Series Snapshot
  • WTAMU leads the all-time series over LCU, 19-10. The Lady Buffs had won six consecutive clashes until LCU won the previous meeting 8-6 in Lubbock on Mar. 12, 2022. WT has wins in eight of the last nine meetings.
  • LCU is 7-10 all-time against WTAMU at Maner Park. WT swept Friday's doubleheader, winning 6-5 and 12-2 (5 innings). Heading into Saturday, nine of the last 12 meetings have been in Lubbock.
    • Ally Oyanguren is 3-for-4 in this season's series, with a home run and two RBI
    • Kasey Flores is 3-for-7, with seven total bases off a double and a home run with two RBI
    • WT is 7-of-12 (.583) on getting the leadoff batter aboard
    • LCU is hitting .440 in the series with the bases empty, but are 7-for-29 (.241) with runners on base (.231 with runners in scoring position).
