LAST TIME OUT
- LCU is coming off their second consecutive win, routing New Mexico Highlands 4-0 on Saturday (Sept. 9).
- Lexi De La Cruz scored a goal and totaled three assists in the win.
- Graycen Rasmussen found the back of the net two times against the Cowgirls.
- Abby Kone scored her first goal of the season.
- Evie Rodriguez and Maya Quinones added an assist each.
LADY CHAP HEADERS
- The Lady Chaps are off to a 2-1-1 start and come into the game with two consecutive wins.
- LCU is averaging two goals a game with an average of 14 shots per game.
- The Lady Chaps have an impressive .571 shots on goal percentage.
- Junior Lexi De La Cruz was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 12).
DAZZLING DE LA CRUZ
- The reigning LSC Offensive Player of the Week lead LCU to wins over Regis and New Mexico Highlands last week.
- Lexi totaled 10 points after scoring three goals and totaling four assists in the two wins.
- She scored the game winning goal on the road against Regis.
- She has taken 13 shots with 10 of them being on goal this season.
RA RA RASMUSSEN
- Sophomore Graycen Rasmussen has the second most points on the team with four.
- She had her first career multi goal game against New Mexico Highlands.
- She has taken 13 shots with seven being on goal.
FLASHY FRESHMEN
- Nine Freshmen have seen action for the Lady Chaps in 2023. This includes Kara Murray, who has started in goal every game for LCU. Murray has made 20 saves and has a save percentage of .769.
- Emily Douglas and Emma Best have also been normal starters for LCU. Douglas scored her first career goal against Regis on Sept. 6. Best added an assist in that match.
- Maya Quinones added an assist against New Mexico Highlands.
FURTHER BACK
- The Lubbock Christian women's soccer program began in 2010 with a 5-2 loss to UT Permian Basin. On Sept. 2, 2021, they recorded the 100th win in program history, beating New Mexico Highlands 4-1. The Lady Chap program enters the 2023 season with an overall record of 115-84-28.
NEW YEAR, NEW FACES
- LCU will feature 14 new players on the 2023 roster. Of those new players, 10 are true freshmen and four are transfers from other universities. The four transfers include Cooper Cowan (Arkansas State), Olivia Weider (Emmanual), Reagan Easter (UT Tyler), and Duschka Diaz (Oklahoma Baptist).
THE SERIES WITH MSU DENVER
- This will be the first meeting between the Lady Chaps and Roadrunners.
SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
- MSU Denver enters the match with a 1-1-2 record and received votes in the United Soccer Coaches DII Poll.
- The Roadrunners are currently ranked 4th in the South-Central Region.
- Last time out they beat fellow LSC member Angelo State 1-0.
- They have played a trio of other LSC teams this season as well. Drawing 0-0 to Midwestern State and St. Edward's, and losing 4-0 to Dallas Baptist.
- The Roadrunners have only scored one goal through their first four games. The goal was scored by Taryn O'Brien.
- MSU Denver has taken 32 shots, but only seven have been on goal.
- Their opponents have taken 40 shots with 19 being on target.
- Roadrunner goalkeepers Kylie Bach and Maddie Reinebold have combined for 15 saves and a .789 save percentage.
- They were picked fifth in the RMAC Preseason poll after a 12-4-4 record in 2022.
- The Roadrunners are coached by Kat Mertz who is in her third season.
